Started in 1979, Highland Spring HIHO ranks as the world's best windsurfing competition. Sponsored by The Moorings, the event is a week of non-stop racing and adventure. It’s literally a tour of the British Virgin Islands with daily races from one island to another and great nightly entertainment.
In addition to windsurfing and catamaran racing, the 2010 event is adding Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP) and WETA high-performance trimaran racing!
During this week-long event, participants' accommodation will be provided aboard The Moorings 4000, Moorings 4300 and Moorings 4600 catamarans and 3 and 4-cabin monohulls. All yachts will include captains and will have plenty of storage for wind, SUP and WETA gear.

WETA High-Performance Trimaran Racing – New for 2010!
A welcome division to Highland Spring HIHO 2010, Wetas are 13’ long by 10.5’ wide trimarans with up to 19 square meters of sail area, making them ideal to sail during a week of inter-island racing through the BVI. The WETA fleet will cover between five to 40 miles (9-72 km) every day and 200+ miles (380km) of racing during the event. WETA racers enter a boat and can race with up to five people during the event.
The racers, their friends and family will be accommodated aboard our fleet of Moorings yachts as the event winds its way through the BVI.
This is a great event for kids as well... The difficulty associated with WETA racing is minimal, and is a perfect opportunity for young sailors to join the fun! They can enter the event with an adult partner, or teams will be matched. Please visit the HIHO website for additional details.
