
Yachting in La Paz waters brings you to one of the premier cities of Mexico. Despite its size (population nearly 300,000), La Paz, meaning city of peace, is laid-back and full of charm. It’s not glitzy, but more in keeping with traditional Mexican cities before some were transformed into busy tourist destinations. Many visitors come to explore the picturesque markets, enjoy the small cafes, or walk the Malecon, the waterfront district.
No moorings are available. There are numerous places to anchor off La Paz. However, most sailors prefer the convenience of the full-service marinas.

La Paz is a city with a European history that dates back more than 400 years, and far earlier for its indigenous cultures. Much of the regional history is recounted in the many museums. The historic site of the Mission of Nuestra del Pilar del La Paz founded in 1723 is a popular attraction. The art of weaving is a tradition in La Paz and there are a number of shops where you can watch the weavers turn wool into apparel. Adventure tours inland to the Sierra de la Laguna Biosphere Reserve south of the city draws eco-tourists from all over the globe to observe the unique flora and fauna of the desert and mountains. La Paz also has its share of restaurants and nightclubs, some casual and some upscale. Not far from the downtown district is the CostaBaja Resort & Marina, a beautiful new resort facility with its own host of amenities.
