Overview - Give us a snapshot of your time with The Moorings?
We had a week of great sailing. The weather was comfortable, seas were great. Scenery was unbelievable--Beautiful hills with very little sign of humanity--such a change from the San Francisco Bay Area. We theroughly enjoyed our trip from Opua on the Bliss--what an aptly named boat! Enjoyed seeing the dolphins that came along side one afternoon.

Highlights - What were the most memorable experiences of your vacation and where on your itinerary did they happen?
After a great lunch in Whangaiki Bay we started out toward the open sea when we encountered a lone kayaker. He appeared to be in his late 70's and was lost and a good distance from his intended destination. We brought him and his kayak on board--offered food and water and motored to a point where his destination was visable and set him on his way. We then raised the sails and continued on to Whangaroa for a great steak dinner at Luke's. Great food and lots of it. Doggy Bags all around.

Tips - Do you have any advice for fellow Moorings guests visiting this destination?
Be ready for a relaxing sail--We anchored in secluded bays each night-- cooked every meal but one on board--The boat was very well provisioned and we had some great meals. The salmon was incredable. Our chart briefing was therough and we felt very confident as we set off to explore new horizons. Moorings staff is the best. Very knowledgable and friendly. If you want to truly experience the joy of sailing this is the place.

Yachts - What features of your yacht did you like the best?
Big enough for three couples. The Baot was very clean and in great condition. Loved the galley layout--made it easy for the "pink team" to cook up some great meals. A very comfortable ship.

Is there anything else you would like to share?
This was our 4th trip with Moorings and it was very different from the BVI and Bahamas-Not nearly the shore activities that other areas afforded but the scenery and water were absolutely fabuloru. Would return in a heartbeat! All the people we met during our stay in NZ were so friendly and kind. We had a great time.
