The Moorings have done an outstanding job with the remold of their Tortola facility. The staff was extremely helpful in prepartion for our sail. We rented a 51.5 sailboat and it was in almost new condition. This is our second time renting from the Moorings in the BVI's and would do it again.

Moorings Response
Jim, Really pleased to hear that you enjoyed the BVI and also the provisioning. It always surprises me that everybody does not take provisioning packs - one thing I hate is spending my vacation time in supermarkets!! With regards to Customs, we try very hard to ease customs procedures from many of our bases around the world; whether it is Greece to Turkey, BVI to or and Croatia to Italy or Montenegro, all have their own procedures and complexities. We will keep trying but can make no promises! Thanks so much for spending the time to complete the review Van Perry Brand Manager - The Moorings

After several years of declining value and service, it is wonderful to see Moorings improve so much.

Gregory Van Der Vink, August 2008

Moorings is back on its game. I have been sailing with Moorings for over 20 years and it has been difficult to see the quality of service decline so much. I have been delighted this year to see the significant improvement. Moorings has never been better. The rreason .... much more professional, responsive, and energetic staff.

Moorings Response
Gregory, Thank you very much for you review. It's great to hear that you think we have improved although our customer feedback has been consistently high for many years. With regards to "green sailing" we are working very hard and I'm not sure where to start!!.... We work very closely with manufacturers Group Beneteau and Robertson and Caine, to minimise any environmental impact during production, we use environmentally friendly cleaning products in all of our bases, we have moved into an award winning (LEED) HQ in Clearwater which has been built using as many recycled and low environmental impact materials as possible, our new base in Tortola has won multiple awards in the US and UK due to its environmental features (water recycling, innovative breakwater design etc etc). You will also see more environmental features on our boats in the future. After all it is in all of our interests to keep the amazing places which we operate out of, in pristine condition. Thanks once again and hope to see you back on the water soon Van Perry Brand Manager - The Moorings

Selah Sail Begins Maiden Voyage With The Moorings in BVI

Jann Churchill, January 2008

Our trip was the "Maiden Voyage" of Selah Sail, a non-profit sailing retreat for recent breast cancer survivors. Five recent survivors and three Selah Sail staff spent a week in The BVI taking time to "pause and reflect" aboard one of your beautiful 40 foot catamarans ("Selah" is a Hebrew word that means to "pause and reflect"). It was…

Always enjoy sailing the BVI especially with the Moorings. It's worth any extra cost.

Judy Erikson, January 2008

Love the new showers at the headquarters in Tortola. Could spend hours there. Staff was helpful as always.

Fabulous islands. Great boat. Superb sailing holiday.

John Pearson, December 2007

A wonderful week in the BVI with family. The baot (a 51.5) was perfectly maintained as usual and just the right boat for our family.

Moorings Response
John, Thanks very much for the response to the review. The BVI really is a fantastic destination as you suggest which is why are biggest base is in Tortola which we have just spent $15 million on!! I am disappointed to hear that the boat in your charter in 2008 was not to the same high standards of maintenance. We try very hard to keep our maintenance standards extremely high and we run a very young fleet with nearly all of our boats being less than 5 years old. Your issue will be followed up with the base management. Hope to see you back on the water soon Best regards Van Perry Brand Manager - The Moorings

This was my 5th time and the kids 2nd time…

Big Cats, Big Fun, Island Magic, Thanks Moorings!

Robert Rosenthal, December 2007

We've been to the BVI several times; this trip was on 46ft Cat that met all our space and equipment expectations save for a small problem with port head holding tank that was dealt with appropriately by Moorings. We did the typical counterclockwise tour from Norman, Peter, Salt, Cooper, Virgin Gorda, Marina Cay, Jost, Suppers Hole back to Peter…
