Cruising in Miami

Miami is one of the premier boating destinations in the country. The weather in Miami and the surrounding cruising area is fantastic all year long with minimal variation in a semi-tropical climate. While the winter season offers the best winds for boating, the summer offers the best swimming opportunities -- and the sightseeing is always fantastic! August is typically the hottest month when the average high temperature reaches 89.8F, while the average low temperature in January, Miami’s coldest month, is 59.5 F.

Key Biscayne

Home to some of the best voted beaches and fishing spots in America, Key Biscayne has plenty to do.  Take part in many activities that Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park has to offer by fishing the seawall along Biscayne Bay, tour South Florida’s oldest building; the Cape Florida Lighthouse, or explore the park trails on foot or bike. This park offers two restaurants, Lighthouse Café and Boater's Grill, which serve up authentic Cuban cuisine. Bicycles, beach chairs, and umbrellas can be rented. Overnight boat camping is allowed in No Name Harbor.

Islamorada

Islamorada, known as Sport Fishing Capital of the World, offers world-class fishing, but also so much more throughout its Village of Islands - Plantation Key, Windley Key, Upper Matacumbe Key, Lower Matacumbe Key and the offshore islands of Indian Key and Lignumvitae Key.
Islamorada is the place you want to go fishing! With a wide range of fish available in this location this might be the only place on Earth where it is possible to catch a sailfish in the morning, and then venture the backcountry in pursuit of other game fish in just inches of water. Those who want to fish the area can do so by land, charter a local captain for fishing excursion or bring gear to fish directly from your boat!

With a national park, two state parks, and national marine sanctuary Key Largo has some of the best dive locations in the world. Submerge yourself into the depths of an underwater paradise and experience the beauty of marine life first hand. Visit America’s first undersea park at John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park through various glass bottom boat tours and get an even closer look by scuba diving and snorkeling the reef.
Explore Dagny Johnson Key Largo Hammock Botanical Park, Everglades National Park, and all the underwater delights of the Florida National Marine Sanctuary. Six miles offshore in the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary you will find the wreck of a 510 foot, former US Navy ship the Spiegel Grove.

Miami Beach

Miami Beach

A popular meeting ground by the locals and tourists is South Beach, also known as “SoBe”. South Beach offers a wide range of restaurants, shopping boutiques, nightlife, and of course its beach. Have fun finding boutiques everywhere full of souvenirs. Walk along Ocean Drive for great people watching and soaking up the culture. Set up camp on South Beach and lay out, tan, play beach volleyball, surf, build sand-castles, swim, and of course people watch.
Various bars and clubs are open to the public 24 hours a day, making Miami’s nightlife out of this world.  Enjoy a variety of DJ’s and dance clubs where you can party the night away.  A very moving exhibit to see here is Miami’s Holocaust Memorial. The walking tour at Miami’s Art Deco District is also very exciting, captivating the beautiful architecture of over 800 structures of historical significance.
