Things To Do Around The Base

National Rainforest el Yunque - The El Yunque National Forest is the only tropical rain forest in the national forest system. At nearly 29,000 acres, it is one of the smallest in size, yet one of the most biologically diverse of the national forests hosting hundreds of animal and plant species, some of which are found only here.

Old San Juan - "What Paris is to Europe, Old San Juan is to the Caribbean." Consisting of over 500 years of history, over 400 restored buildings from the 16th- and 17th-century Spanish colonial period liberally splashed with tropical colors, and a timeless magic that makes it one of the most enchanting destinations in the Caribbean, this area in San Juan is steeped in history with an old-world and romantic European charm you will not want to miss.

Las Cabezas de San Juan Natural Reserve - Wonderfully preserved by the Conservation Trust since 1975, the Reserva Natural Cabezas de San Juan comprises 321 acres of untamed scrub and mangroves and 8km of reef-lined coast on the northeastern tip of the island.

Horseback Riding & Biking - Explore Puerto Rico and its amazing forest and beach on horseback. This tour departs from Carabalí Rainforest Park into the foothills of "El Yunque National Forest". Guests will enjoy incredible views and experience the stunning flora and fauna of this unique eco-system. The invigorating horseback rides takes you “off the beaten path” to enjoy an incredible adventure.

Rio Camuy Cave Park - Rio Camuy Cave Park is the third-largest cave system in the world. This incredible 268-acre park is the site of the great subterranean caverns carved out by the Camuy River over one million years ago. The impeccably maintained trails gently descend 200 feet through a fern filled ravine to the cathedral-like caverns. The park is equipped with picnic areas, walking trails, food facilities, and exhibition hall and a souvenir shop, making it the perfect place to spend a day. Reservations are essential.
