Little Harbour (Day 1)

Enjoy a serene day at Little Harbour, a secluded gem on the southern edge of Abaco. This quiet bay is ideal for those seeking solitude and natural beauty. Drop anchor and head ashore to Pete’s Pub, a laid-back beach bar known for fresh seafood, rum punches, and its on-site bronze sculpture gallery and foundry. Swim in clear, calm waters, explore the surrounding shoreline, or simply unwind aboard your yacht and soak up the tranquility of this unspoiled anchorage.

Day 2

Hope Town, Elbow Cay

Your journey continues south to the iconic Hope Town, located on Elbow Cay’s eastern shore. As you enter the harbor, you’ll be welcomed by the candy-striped Elbow Reef Lighthouse—one of the last operational kerosene lighthouses in the world. The village itself is a charming mix of colonial-style cottages, narrow lanes, and waterfront cafés. Take a bike ride along the island paths, snorkel off nearby beaches, or simply enjoy the relaxed, colorful vibe of one of the Abacos’ most beloved destinations.

Mooring

Moorings in Hope Town are available and marina slips can be reserved in advance of your arrival. Mooring balls in Hope Town are first come- first served. No anchorage is available in Hope Town Harbor, but due West of the Lighthouse between Elbow Cay and Pirate Cays. Marina dockage will be available at White Sound, and there’s an anchorage off Tahiti Beach.

Things to do

The Wyannie Malone Museum is a tribute to Hope Town’s founder, Wyannie Malone, who fled South Carolina during the American Revolution and helped establish the settlement in 1785 with fellow refugees. The museum offers a fascinating look at this pivotal period in history, shedding light on the events that shaped the Bahamas and contributed to its unique character. A visit to Elbow Reef Lighthouse is also a must; the climb to the top rewards you with breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding area. In addition to exploring the museum and lighthouse, you’ll find a variety of charming, eclectic shops and local restaurants, including the popular Cap’n Jacks. For a more modern experience, head to White Sound, where you can relax at the Firefly Resort or enjoy a meal at Abaco Inn.

Day 3

Green Turtle Cay

Today, cruise to White Sound on Green Turtle Cay, a picturesque harbor surrounded by lush greenery. Green Turtle Cay is renowned for its Loyalist history and warm community spirit. Explore New Plymouth, a quaint village of pastel cottages, local shops, and small museums. Enjoy a stroll through the charming streets, browse handmade Bahamian crafts, or relax into the island’s easygoing pace. The surrounding waters also offer excellent snorkeling opportunities, making this a great day for both cultural discovery and time in the sea.

Mooring

There are moorings available in White Sound, as well as marina facilities – Green Turtle Club and Bluff House marina. Anchorages exist off of New Plymouth and outside of White Sound and Cocoa bay. Holding is poor in Black Sound, but there are mooring buoys and a marina available.

Things to do

The Green Turtle Club in White Sound is highly recommended. New Plymouth is great for sightseeing, museum visiting and restaurants.

Green Turtle Cay – New Plymouth

Nestled north of Marsh Harbour and surrounded by a stunning jade-green sea, Green Turtle Cay offers a captivating blend of natural beauty and modern charm. The island’s picturesque harbors, Black and White Sounds, provide the perfect backdrop for exploration. Enjoy the delicious local cuisine at the island’s restaurants, and immerse yourself in the rich history and culture of the area. For a unique experience, visit the Captain Roland Roberts House Environment Center to learn about the fascinating ecology of the Bahamas’ reefs through informative exhibits. History enthusiasts will enjoy wandering through the Albert Lowe Museum, where art and photography highlight the story of New Plymouth. This island, like many in the Bahamas, became home to former British colonists after the American Revolution, and their legacy is honored with a bronze sculpture in the Memorial Sculpture Garden, paying tribute to those early settlers.

Day 4

Great Guana Cay

Known for its expansive white-sand beach on the Atlantic side, Great Guana Cay is sparsely populated with few stores or restaurants. It’s an incredibly scenic island, one that will inspire you to return for more fun. Anchor off in Fisher’s Bay and enjoy a beautiful sunset, or head to shore for some of the popular refreshments like the blaster in Grabbers or the Nipper on the other side of the island. 

Mooring

Moorings are available for a fee through Dive Guana in Settlement Harbor. Orchid bay Marina is found at the same place, with all facilities Both of these harbors are near the village and the few stores and restaurants. The best anchorage is in Fisher’s Bay. Just North of Settlement Harbour. Bakers bay in the North has a great anchorage, but the activities are restricted to the beach, as the rest of property inland is private.

Things to do

Dive Guana is a full-service dive shop that also rents out bikes. There are several restaurants, including the famous Grabbers Bar & Grill, or Nipper’s. From Baker’s bay, venture to Spoil Cay with a dinghy for shell collecting and exploring. 

Facilities

Dockage is available at Orchid Bay Marina on the south side of Settlement Harbor. Provisions are available in town.

Great Guana Cay
Day 5

Marsh Harbour, Abacos *for morning disembarkation (4d)

After a relaxed breakfast or a final swim, cruise back to Marsh Harbour for disembarkation by 10 am. As you sail into the harbor, take in one last view of the turquoise waters and white sandy cays. Whether you’ve come for adventure, tranquility, or a mix of both, this Abacos itinerary leaves you refreshed, inspired, and already dreaming of your next island escape.

The Moorings base at Marsh Harbour offers a full-service marina at Harbour View Marina. You’ll find secure dockage with water, electricity, fuel, and easy access for provisioning. Calm, protected waters make docking straightforward.

Explore local shops, dine at waterfront restaurants, or enjoy a casual stroll along the marina boardwalk. Visit the Abaco Neem farm, local art galleries, or enjoy live music and cocktails at popular spots like Snappas and Wally’s. It’s also a great place to pick up souvenirs or relax before or after your charter.

Well-stocked grocery stores (Maxwell’s Supermarket nearby), marine supply shops, ATMs, car rentals, fuel docks, Wi-Fi, showers, laundry services, and nearby airport access. Everything you need for a smooth arrival, provisioning stop, or final night onboard.
