The staff at all the bases we visited (St Martin, Antigua, Martinique, St Lucia and Grenada) were so helpful and friendly. Noting was too much trouble.

The location in Croatia (Agatha) was world class and we had a ball. So many safe bays to swim in and anchor up, great marinas to visit.

In July 2026 we chartered with Moorings-SunSail in the BVI and it was great. If you are planning to charter there – ask for Max – he is fantastic. We were happy with our boat and Lindsey ( onsite Director) went out of her way to quickly address a small issue with our grill the day of departure within minutes. We highly recommend requesting Captain Max ( we called him Magic Max) as your Captain. he is an exceptional sailor – knowledgeable, calm, attentive and focused on delivering the experience his guests are seeking. Each day he laid out a clear plan with thoughtful options. he was always prepared and on point. His technical expertise was outstanding – he could fix anything that happened mechanically on the boat as he had worked 2 years in a shipyard – he could troubleshoot and fix issues himself without having to reply upon headquarters. Max always knew where to take us – be it a quiet secluded area with a beach all to our own or a fun lively location for happy hour and dinner. Max also helped out son reconnect with his latent sailing skills. He was patient, encouraging and enthusiastic to instruct – and that really made the trip extra-special for our family. Again – if you are looking for the BEST captain – ask for Max – he truly made our trip exceptional.

Deni was a wonderful captain and Alex was an amazing! Cooking some of the most delicious meals even making some Croatian specialties! They are both so sweet which made the trip that much more special! The islands, the spectacular water, the food, I can’t say enough about what a great vacation this was! We have done the moorings with and without a chef, but would highly recommend going with a chef. Well worth it!

Chartered a 42 Catamaran out of the La Paz Mooring Base. The trip was seamless and amazing. The area is a environmental gem. The waters are pristine and there are many cove to anchor. The Moorings Base Staff was top notch. They could not have been more helpful and were available 24/7 to answer all of our questions. We sailed with George and Ella for six days with our family of six— four teenagers and two adults. The catamaran was great, George and Ella were both wonderful, and the trip was amazing. We knew our kids would love it, but we were a little nervous about working with a crew because they’re active kids and four teenagers can be a lot! Instead, it was the easiest thing we have done in a long time. George and Ella had everything ready for us, every meal was the kids next favorite meal, every stop was the next favorite stop, it was just one great spectacular moment of blissful ease after another. As a parent, that is the ultimate luxury! They made all of our reservations for us and made some great recommendations for stops. Our kids loved the whole experience top to bottom and we did as well. Pure magic. The level of care they offered for each meal was so impressive- Ella had the kids excited for each meal, it was very sweet. They were also very helpful and informative with snorkeling and water sports. The hospitality was unending.

Croatia was amazing . Words cannot express how much Ana and Dino made the trip a 10 out of 10. We loved the spots Dino chose to dock and stay. Ana’s food was better than any restaurant we ate at off the boat. Her menu selections were like a 5 star restaurant. Her flexibility when we changed our meal times last minute. Her lunches were like high end dinners. They both accomplished everything we put on our preference sheets and even went above and beyond that.

A dads greatest moments are when he has his whole family together and they are having fun being together. Ana and Dino gave our family a tremendous gift and the entire experience exceeded my expectations. Multiple types of dockings, views and swimming spots. Beautiful days sailing and picturesque settings everywhere we went. Ana gave us family meals we will never forget. Incredible service and cuisine. She even made my birthday special. 10/10!!!!!

Exploring towns and mooring gave a great mix. Seafood seafood seafood which was just what we wanted. Our room was always tidy.

This was our second magical sail with Moorings Belize and it was exceptional! The 4500 was a fantastic boat — modern, spacious (Starlink would be the only improvement I would suggest) and comfortable for our whole family — but honestly, the real highlight was Captain Dion.

From day one Dion made us feel completely at ease. He was patient, kind, endlessly thoughtful and just a genuine pleasure to be around. As both captain and host, he went above and beyond crafting a wonderful 7-day itinerary with calm, beautiful moorings and truly exceptional snorkeling spots. He kept us spoiled with fresh fish every single day and always seemed to know exactly what would make each day special.

By the end of the trip, Dion didn’t feel like our captain anymore, he felt like family. We’re so grateful for the memories he helped create, and we’re already looking forward to sailing with him again on our next trip. Thank you, Dion, for everything!

Incredible week! Andy and Linzi made the trip extremely enjoyable. We spent 7 days on McLovin Life and every day was awesome. Andy clearly has extensive boating/sailing experience and was able to ensure a safe week while maintaining a relaxed environment. He took time with us daily to discuss the next day’s plan and also shared his significant knowledge of the region and provided some fun education regarding navigation. Through info gathered from us on our pre trip zoom meeting, Andy was able to plan a week’s location agenda that fit perfectly with what we were looking for. Linzi is a gem. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily were amazing meals. Linzi is one of the most organized people you will meet and everything ran like clockwork, and the meals were varied, ample, and delicious. Everything was fresh and abundant and clearly thoroughly thought out in advance…and 5:30 “nibbles” was a daily treat we all looked forward to. The boat was incredibly well stocked and we wanted for nothing. If you are thinking about spending a week on a boat in the caribbean, I highly suggest you book with Andy and Linzi for the most enjoyable memorable experience.

We have just finished an AMAZING two weeks in Croatia cruising the region between Split and Dubrovnik. We charter a lot so I can credibly say The Moorings is the very best. The staff, equipment and organization are reliably great. Our Skipper for this trip was Miroslav Horvat, a seasoned pro representative of the highest standards. I rate this trip a 10 all around.

There were several errors made by the Moorings Base from poor customer service, our boat not being ready on time, our captain being scheduled to be with us for only 6 days instead of 7 and missing provisions from the Moorings Market. What made our trip amazing was our captain Shem Samuel. He set a 7 day itinerary for us that could not be matched. He took us to beaches that had very few people, we went to snorkeling spots that were not crowded, made dinner reservations for us at restaurants of where we wanted to eat and even took us to a couple of his secret spots that were incredible. Shem would ask us each evening on what we would like to do the next day. With his knowledge and experience he would give us his input and then put together an incredible day for us. Can’t thank Captain Shem enough for an amazing week.

We were fortunate enough to spend six amazing days sailing through the BVI on the catamaran McLovin, and it was truly a trip of a lifetime!
Captain Andy and Linzi were incredible from start to finish. The boat was beautiful and had plenty of room for all seven of us. Linzi’s food was absolutely amazing—every meal was different and somehow better than the one before!
The scenery was breathtaking, and we loved that Captain Andy took us off the beaten path to places we never would have discovered on our own. He was so knowledgeable and made the entire trip easy and enjoyable.
He was also completely right when he told us not to pack much—we lived in swimsuits and cover-ups the entire time!
We loved every minute of this trip and cannot recommend Captain Andy, Linzi, and McLovin enough!

We just returned from an incredible yacht charter with The Moorings out of Placencia, Belize, and the entire experience exceeded our expectations.

From the moment we arrived, the team at the base, under the outstanding management of Renee, made us feel welcome and well taken care of. Everything was organized, professional, and seamless. Our yacht was in pristine condition—immaculately maintained and fully prepared for an amazing week on the water.

The highlight of our trip was our skipper, Rudy Williams. He truly went above and beyond to make our charter unforgettable. Rudy’s knowledge of the area led us to some of the most beautiful anchorages, snorkeling spots, and hidden gems that we never would have found on our own. His warmth, professionalism, and genuine passion for sailing were evident every day, and his enthusiasm made every part of the journey more enjoyable.

If you’re considering a charter from Placencia, we can’t recommend The Moorings highly enough. Between the exceptional base team, a beautifully maintained yacht, and the outstanding experience Rudy created for us, this was one of the best sailing vacations we’ve ever had. We look forward to returning!

We had a wonderful time exploring BVI on a 50 ft. Moorings catamaran. Captain Steph and her partner Julia were wonderful! Steph was very skilled at taking us everywhere we wanted to go and Julia made us the most delicious meals! We ate off the boat for dinner once and were actually sorry we did! No restaurant could touch her creations!! The boat was well equipped with toys (paddle board, kayak, swim mat, etc. ) and the bedrooms were actually a lot more spacious with more storage than we expected! great trip with the family! Highly recommend!!

We had a week charter as a family with Captain Dwayne and had the absolute best time! Captain Dwayne knew fantastic spots and was confident and competent during storms. Our boys had the time of their lives fishing and diving for lobsters. We stoped at numerous snorkeling spots and various cayes within the reef. Thank you Moorings, and especially Captain Dwayne for an unforgettable week!

A once in a lifetime trip was experienced by our group on a 7 day voyage with Captain George and chef Silvina. Our expectations were exceeded every day with wonderful meals and amazing sights. Our crew attended to our every need and remembered little details about what we liked or didn’t care for. If you are looking for total relaxation and you love the sea, this is a trip for you.

What a fabulous holiday we had sailing around some of the beautiful Croatian islands and coast. Our skipper Max was excellent, accommodating, safe, hugely knowledgeable about the areas we visited, the food, the wines and most importantly he was very respectful. The Moorings marina staff were very friendly and welcoming and made our arrival and exit super easy. We will definitely visit again.

I chartered with The Moorings out of Placencia for a week last month, and the entire experience — from the staff to the boat itself — was great.
From the moment we arrived, the team was organized, welcoming, and happy to help. Check in was smooth, paperwork was quick, and every staff member we interacted with was friendly and knowledgeable. The chart briefing was thorough without being overwhelming, and they answered every question with patience and confidence. Ours being a bareboat charter, I wish I had asked a few more questions.
The dock crew was equally impressive. They helped with luggage, assisted with provisioning, and made sure we were comfortable on board before departure. On our early morning return, the process was just as efficient — no stress, no confusion. We all made our flights out back to Belize City
Our sailing catamaran was in excellent condition: clean, well maintained, and fully equipped. Systems mostly worked as expected — engines, generator, electronics, galley equipment. VHF radio had some issues and we were challenged with the water maker for a few hours – nothing to impact our trip. The layout was comfortable for our group, with plenty of space to relax, cook, and enjoy the evenings on board.
Overall, this was one of the smoothest charter experiences I’ve had. The combination of a well prepared boat and a professional, friendly staff made the entire trip easy and enjoyable. Highly recommended!

Our chartered Croatia trip way exceeded expectations. Not just because island hopping is amazing. We were fortunate to have Captain Deni and Chef Alex. She was beyond accommodating and cared deeply about the food she prepped and served. Deni briefed us each morning and presented different destination options. If you enjoy long and slow days that are about relaxing, swimming, snorkeling, kayaking, fishing, reading with your family or closest friends, Request Deni and Alex.

We just completed a week long cruise on the El Tropicat, a Leopard 50 catamaran, with Captain Deni and Alex. We were 4 couples + the captain & Alex. It was an amazing time. The locations were picture perfect, and we avoided the crazy Tik-tok crowds we had been warned against.
The weather cooperated- it was warm during the day but cooled down every evening for the perfect outdoor lounging on the boat. Coming from Miami, the weather was such a break from the humidity we endure at this time of year, and we enjoyed the break.
Swimming every day in the Adriatic can’t be emphasized enough. the water was brisk when first getting in, but you quickly acclimatized and it was wonderful.
The food chef Alex prepared was delicious and healthy. One of our party didn’t eat seafood- and since the overall menu was seafood heavy, chef Alex made something special for her each time.
This was our 2nd Moorings adventure, and we can’t wait for the next one.
