We just returned from the most amazing trip with Andy and Linzi! Even prior to boarding the boat every whim was being attended to. Andy and Linzi created a fun, casual, welcome atmosphere that had us from the utmost relaxation to utter enjoyment and laughter. The meals were amazing. Linzi’s salads, breakfast spreads and nibbles! I think our biggest regret was the 2 meals we ate off ship. Andy was so knowledgeable and continued to offer education through our journey which was very much appreciated. He was also very mindful to seek out great snorkeling sites, amazing views for all, adventures for the kiddos, and get the sails up!
Linzi and Andy are an amazing duo and an adventure not to be missed!

This was our ninth bareboat charter with Mooring and our third from their Tortola base. We’ve also bareboat chartered with Moorings in the Bahamas, St. Lucia, Belize and Tahiti. And, to provide some context, we’ve been bareboat charting in the BVI’s every couple of years since our first time, on our honeymoon, in 1980, so we have experience with several different charter companies. Overall, from start to finish, this was an excellent charter. We were on an almost new 4200 catamaran and all systems, including engines, generator, water maker, air conditioning, rigging and sails, gas grill and oven/range, dinghy and outboard, and navigation equipment performed perfectly. We had one, very minor issue with some cabin lights not coming on, and I called Moorings tech support to ask for some guidance on trouble shooting the issue. Even though we were moored at the Bitter End on Virgin Gorda, they had a technician at our boat in under an hour to resolve the issue. What is most impressive to us is how Moorings makes you feel like you are the only boat and crew starting or ending a charter in Tortola. This charter was at the very height of their busy season and we were told they had over sixty boats going out that day (a Saturday). Even so, when we arrived at the base first thing in the morning with a car load of provisions, many requiring refrigeration or frozen, they immediately got it all into an ice locker until our boat was ready. It was a great family sail and my wife and I have already booked a 4200 in Tahiti for this November.

We’re just back from a week aboard Sea’s The Day in the BVIs and had the most relaxing, informative, and all-around wonderful time.

Weeks before our visit, we had a Zoom meetup with Captain Andy who discussed with us our travel, meal and beverage interests and preferences. Once on board, Chef Linzi and Andy made us feel immediately welcome and at home. We soon recognized that our interests and preferences were taken to heart – everything was perfect – the meal choices, the drink options, the travel itinerary, and even the weather (however they pulled that one together is beyond me). We couldn’t have asked for better.

Sea’s The Day is clean and roomy and gorgeous. The multiple seating and relaxing areas make the boat feel extremely large. We had a party of 8 (plus Linzi and Andy), and never once felt that we were on top of one another. The personal cabins were all plenty roomy and cozy. Temperature controls worked perfectly and we all slept deeply and comfortably each night.

Linzi is an absolute black-belt in the kitchen and her meals were always suuuper tasty, healthy, and were presented with an artistic flair. I cannot praise her talents enough. Andy, during his daily briefings, proved to be a great communicator, and a humorous storyteller, in addition to being an unquestionably solid captain.

If you’re looking for THE EXCEPTIONAL BVI cruising experience, look no further than Sea’s The Day and the crew of Linzi and Andy. You won’t find better.

My parents took our family on a catamaran charter for my dad’s 70th birthday! IT WAS THE BEST TRIP!!! Andy and Linzi were amazing – the food insane (craving one of Linzi’s lunchtime salads now!) and they were very nice and accommodating to our children (9 and 11). I would highly recommend this trip to anyone and definitely suggest requesting Andy and Linzi as I can’t imagine the trip without them! Can’t wait to do it again!!!!

Andy and Linzi were the best captain and chef!
It was evident from the start that Andy’s first priority was safety, which set a great tone and got the trip off to a great start. I also appreciated that he did a zoom call with us pre-trip and really worked on crafting the itinerary to our preferences. Every day’s activities and scenery just got better and better. We were able to relax and enjoy and not worry about anything! We almost loved our time on the boat too much and found ourselves eager to return there when we went on excursions ashore. Linzi’s cooking and food presentation were beyond top notch. Healthy, delicious food for every meal! So impressive what she produced out of that tiny kitchen. We had the most memorable, enjoyable week and appreciated every moment with this crew. Also, I must comment how surprised I was with how roomy and comfortable our rooms and group spaces were on the boat! Just a perfect trip.

We just got back from a week chartering the Moorings 4500 L and were very fortunate to have had Captain Rudy at the helm! He was experienced, knowledgeable and fun to be with along with having a keen eye for everything hidden in the reef! We had paid for a newer boats, and that proved to be beneficial in that not one single system failed on that boat during the week. Moorings was great to work in advance organizing and preparing for the charter and the 4500 L was spacious and well equipped and designed for our party of nine. A few unexpected positives that we had not seen online were an extra freezer under the sink, making three cold food storage locations total and also luggage storage at the Belize base which was very helpful. I can’t recommend Rudy or Moorings more highly and hope we can make a return trip one day!

The Moorings – British Virgin Islands

We have chartered with The Moorings five times in the British Virgin Islands, and each experience has been exceptional. Their fleet is modern, well-maintained, and equipped with everything needed for a smooth sailing adventure. The staff is professional and punctual, ensuring a seamless check-in and departure process.

During our most recent trip, we encountered a minor technical issue while out on the water. The Moorings team responded promptly, meeting us on our boat and resolving the issue in a very timely manner, allowing us to continue our journey with minimal disruption. Their commitment to customer service and support is truly impressive.

With such consistently excellent experiences, we will continue to charter with The Moorings and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable and well-run yacht charter in the BVI.

The yacht Sea’s the Day was fantastic. Captain Andy and Chef Linzi were true professionals but also a lot of fun. Captain had a briefing with us every morning and we learned so much. Chef Linzi blew us away with the meals! Breakfast, lunch, nibbles/cocktails at 5:30pm, and of course, dinner— all wonderful and exceeded our expectations for this trip. We snorkeled, hit all the classic beach bars, paddle boarded, hiked, and soaked up the sun for 6 glorious days. Cannot recommend Ssa’s the Day, Captain Andy, Chef Linzi, and the Moorings more highly.

We’ve chartered with the Moorings in the Abacos, Belize, and 4 times in the BVI. We like the people and the service. The one thing we’ve learned is to check the boats as best we can before leaving the dock. We experienced a leaking porthole during a rain shower that was fixed immediately. The Moorings has always been responsive to issues after leaving the dock, so don’t hesitate to contact them. Examples for us have been airconditioning issues in one hull, generators that weren’t charging the batteries, anchor lights out, and an engine alarm going off. All were repaired except for the anchor lights on two boats. So our advice would be check out what you can before leaving the dock, and do not hesitate to call for technical support while crusiing – in the BVI the Moorings response time is 4 hours, and the techs are very competitent.

Nika & Francesco were amazing! They took my family and I on the most amazing tour of the BVI’s and made it truly special catering to our every request. They were amazing hosts of the boat and the islands with expert knowledge every step of the way. I would definitely recommend sailing with them, you can tell that they love what they are doing!

Beautiful new boat and the help getting going was awesome. We had one issue so had to come back to the fuel dock but their tech jumped on it and fixed it quickly. Wonderful adventure and will definitely do it again.

The BVI are a special place and to see it from a boat for a week was spectacular! We had a really good experience with the Moorings and the boat we rented, Ohm Sweet Ohm. We did a “bare boat” with just a captain.

First off, the boat. It was spacious, 5 berths and though it was 3 years old, it was in pretty good shape. We did have a few problems during our week. Our first night out, the water maker and water heater went out. The water heater was able to be bypassed the whole week with the water being heated by the engine. The captain was able to limp through the next few days with water maker, with is sporadically working and not working until the water maker completely burned out on day 4. The water maker burning out caused the generator to fail. The generator was repaired on the water in Virgin Gorda, but the water maker could not be. We had to make stops to get our water tanks refilled at some of the docks on the islands. Not a huge deal, but worth mentioning.

Our captain was really great, if a tad inexperienced. He preferred motoring to most places, despite some days with good wind. We really wanted to sail more, but I don’t think he felt terribly comfortable. My wife has sailed since her teens and tried to coax it a bit, but he was pretty set on putting the sails down.

All in all I would use Moorings again, but I would certainly look around at the other charter companies.

We recently went on a five (5) day family trip with Captain Giacomo B (“Captain Jack”). We did a similar trip many years ago and the family has alway wanted to go back.

We were not disappointed. Booking and preparation was easy. The Moorings facilities and services have all been enhanced and make the process simple and convenient.

The boat was outfitted as we requested, including paddle boards and kayaks.

Jack was a great fit for our group. He handled the boat well and was there whenever we needed him to answer questions and provide dinghy transportation to snorkeling spots and shore trips.

We had specific locations and activities planned and Jack was able to facilitate all of our requests. However, when we didn’t have a plan for the day or when our plans could be improved, Jack provided numerous options and recommendations to enhance our experience. That is not an easy task with our group.

All of his suggestions were perfect and made our days more enjoyable.

If you want to enjoy a relaxing, easy trip in the Caribbean, we highly recommend The Moorings and Captain Jack.

First of all, the captain makes the trip. We were lucky enough to have captain kedon. He was fun, friendly and very professional. The boat fit all our needs. My only complaint is that there was not a grill brush to clean the grill and a pizza cutter. Very minimal things. Other than that it was amazing.

If you plan to book a sailing trip in the bvi’s through the Moorings, you must request Captain Levi, Chef Lauren and Drink Specialist Ella. They made our 8 day journey around the islands incredible. They were attentive, exceptional at their jobs and a real pleasure to be around. They also went our of their way to assist each other and us throughout the trip to ensure we had the best time possible. We have had great experiences with the Moorings and other crews in the past, but these three were first rate and worked really well together.

Captain Levi had an incredible grasp of the vessel and navigation, understanding our needs and finding the perfect locations for us. Chef Lauren made exceptional food and ensured that all of our needs (which were not easy, were met) – and her desserts were divine – how someone can cook that well on a boat is beyond us. And Ella’s drinks rivaled the best bar tenders we have encountered through our travels over the years!

If you can secure the three of them, I would highly recommend it!
