The As You Wish team, can’t wait to welcome you to the BVI.
Set sail on an unforgettable vacation that will leave you refreshed, with bellies full of good food and hearts full of fond memories.
Captain Lucy was introduced to the world of sailing in her teens and instantly knew she had found her calling. She pursued her passion academically, completing specialist maritime courses at university before launching her professional career as a sailing and powerboating instructor. Over the past decade, she has trained new sailors, delivered a wide variety of vessels, and run charters and experience days throughout the UK and the Mediterranean.
Passionate about sharing her love for life on the water, Captain Lucy brings a wealth of knowledge and experience, with safety and enjoyment at the heart of everything she does. With a warm and welcoming personality, she creates a truly immersive experience for guests, tailoring each charter to the group on board, whether that means exploring stunning islands, searching for wildlife, or discovering authentic local cuisine.
Chef Mark’s journey into the world of sailing began with a volunteer crew position on a traditional sailing charter. With a background as a personal trainer, he quickly developed a love for the physicality and rhythm of life at sea, gaining experience across both traditional and modern vessels. His enthusiasm led him to qualify as a powerboat instructor, and over the past two seasons he has shared his knowledge by teaching students and leading wildlife excursions along the Devon coastline.
Beyond sailing, Mark has always had a deep appreciation for food, believing it to be one of the most powerful ways to connect people on board. To refine his craft, he trained at the prestigious Ashburton Cookery School, developing the skills to elevate his cooking to a professional yacht chef level.
As a yacht chef, Mark combines his passion for the sea with his love of cooking, creating memorable dining experiences for guests on board. His culinary style focuses on fresh, locally sourced ingredients and bold yet comforting flavours. A guest favourite is his beetroot and feta risotto — a vibrant, flavour-packed dish that reflects his energetic and creative approach to cooking. With his ability to curate thoughtful, high-quality meals, Mark aims to deliver an experience that is not just a charter, but a truly immersive journey in both adventure and cuisine.
*If unforeseen circumstances prevent this crew from hosting your charter, another competent crew will substitute.
