Set sail on an unforgettable vacation, one that leaves you refreshed, well-fed, and filled with lasting memories. Captain Pieter and Chef Theresa bring together decades of sailing experience, ocean knowledge, and a shared passion for creating unforgettable experiences at sea.
Captain Pieter’s lifelong connection with the ocean has taken him from competitive sailing in South Africa to extensive offshore cruising around the world. With a BSc degree in Marine Zoology and Biochemistry, as well as a Diploma in Teaching, Pieter spent 12 years teaching Science and Mathematics before moving into business ownership. Throughout his life, sailing and watersports have remained a constant passion.
After purchasing his first sailboat in the late 1990s, Pieter quickly fell in love with sailing and went on to own five monohulls and two catamarans. He has raced at the Royal Cape Yacht Club in social, round-the-buoys, and offshore regattas, while also completing long passages aboard both monohulls and catamarans. In 2017, Pieter and Theresa sailed their 44ft monohull double-handed from Cape Town to the Caribbean, where they spent two seasons exploring the islands from Trinidad to Puerto Rico.
With extensive cruising experience and a deep understanding of different yacht types, Pieter enjoys sharing his knowledge, stories, and local insights with guests. He takes pride in creating personalised itineraries that suit each guest’s preferences, combining safe seamanship with the opportunity to discover the very best of each destination.
Chef Theresa brings a wealth of hospitality experience, culinary creativity, and a love for life at sea to every charter. Originally from the Northern Cape in South Africa, Theresa spent 21 years in the corporate world before following her passion for travel and joining the final world voyage of the QEII cruise ship.
Her sailing journey began with dinghy and Hobie Cat sailing in South Africa before meeting Pieter and embarking on a shared adventure across the oceans. Since then, Theresa has sailed more than 10,000 nautical miles aboard both monohulls and catamarans, including a Transatlantic crossing and two years cruising throughout the Caribbean. During their travels, she developed a passion for sourcing fresh, local ingredients and creating meals inspired by the destinations they explored.
Since 2021, Theresa has been creating high-end, nutritious cuisine for charter guests, with a focus on fresh flavours, quality ingredients, and thoughtful presentation. Her attention to detail and warm hospitality ensure every meal becomes a memorable part of the charter experience.
Together, Pieter and Theresa combine expert seamanship, world cruising experience, and exceptional culinary hospitality to create a relaxed, safe, and unforgettable journey for every guest on board.
