Depending on your sailing experience, you may already be qualified to skipper a Moorings yacht. Simply fill out our online sailing résumé,and we'll review your experience and tell you what you are already approved to charter. Yes, The Moorings is well known for the preparation we provide our guests. Prior to your charter departure, you will be given a complete chart briefing covering the local cruising grounds, and answering any questions you may have about navigation, anchorages, prevailing conditions, clearing customs or any part of your desired itinerary. We will then give you a complete briefing aboard the yacht you will be sailing, covering all the operating systems, including rigging, electrical system, water system, windlass, stove, head, dinghy, outboard and emergency systems.

That all depends on you. Your Moorings vacation can be tailored to fit your party and your preferences. How many people are you sailing with? Are they couples traveling together or do you need single cabins for some guests? How much space and comfort would you like? Whatever your needs, The Moorings is sure to have a yacht that is right for you. Choose from a fleet of monohulls and catamarans ranging from 32 to 62 feet, with 2 to 5 cabins. See our Charter Fleet section for a complete listing of yacht models.

Our newest models also include flat screen TV's and DVD players. For a complete listing of equipment and amenities found on board, see What's Included.

Above all, protection from the sun is vital – lots of suntan lotion, wide-brimmed hats or sailing caps, and loose-fitting cotton cover-ups. For cool or windy evenings, a windbreaker comes in handy.

Due to our high volume of air travel, we have negotiated lower rates than those typically offered to the public.

Most of the time you will board the yacht at one of The Moorings’ marinas in the yachting location you have chosen. At the end of your charter, you will sail back to the marina and then be transported to the airport. In certain destinations, we may be able to pick you up in one location and drop you off in another. Ask your Vacation Planning Specialist if you are interested in a one-way charter.
