It’s important to us that you always have a great experience with The Moorings. Below is the feedback The Moorings customers have given us from their recent vacations with The Moorings.

Our group had a terrific time, cruising the BVI in our Moorings 5000 catamaran. This was my first outing as a skipper and most of my crew’s first time bareboat, cruising. The boat was great, the weather was perfect, and we managed to hit most of the places we wanted to see.
We were able to spend lots of time, snorkeling, fishing, and sailing. All in all, an ideal vacation. -
We just returned from an incredible 11-day sailing trip through the British Virgin Islands aboard the Maggie Sea II, a 50-ft catamaran, and it was truly unforgettable.
The boat itself was immaculate — spotless, comfortable, and clearly well cared for. We were lucky to have perfect weather the entire trip, even though it was hurricane season. While many restaurants were closed this time of year, we never missed them thanks to Chef Sylvia, who prepared delicious Mediterranean meals every day. Her cooking was exceptional and full of variety.
Captain Romano was outstanding — experienced, calm, and knowledgeable. He took us to the most beautiful snorkeling spots and always found peaceful, scenic moorings for the night. Every stop felt thoughtfully chosen.
If you’re planning a sailing adventure in the BVI’s, I can’t recommend this team and yacht highly enough. The Maggie Sea II, with Captain Romano and Chef Sylvia, delivers a first-class experience from start to finish.

One of the best vacations we have ever taken. We rented a power cat 13 years ago and the second time around did not disappoint. Going in Sept is very different. Many places are closed but if you like the peacefulness of being the only boat around and having some of the natural wonders to yourself it was a good time to go. We did 1st night on boat at the dock then 6 days on the boat around the BVIS. The only admission fee we had to pay was for some overnight mooring and the fee for the Baths. All of the staff at the Moorings was super friendly and helpful. This is the best vacation for friends, family and new experiences.

Three generations of our family gathered in Tortola to cruise the beautiful British Virgin Islands. All ages loved the adventure, especially the kids, (all new to sailing, ranging in age from 6 to 14. They were enthralled with their ‘fishing’ attempts! We had an excellent skipper, Gilson, who made the trip even better. We lucked out with wonderful weather, in spite of it being hurricane season. Hope to go again next year!

What trip of a lifetime. It was amazing it was a group of 5 girls on a girl getaway. We each had our own room and bathroom and plenty of space outside and in. The front net with the bean bags was my favorite to explore the islands and beautiful turquoise waters. All of this was made better by our captain Kevin “Jamba”, Jamba was accommodating he would take the dinghy and run to the market for anything that was needed and a lot fun. He was a great guide to see the BVI. I highly recommend asking for him if you are sailing in the BVI with The Moorings.
-
Girls trip!! Five of us and the very best captain Kevin “Jamba” Chinnery had a wonderful week of sailing, snorkeling, eating, drinking, exploring, laughing and just thoroughly enjoying our time in the BVIs. I highly recommend The Moorings and Shape Up II and especially Captain Jamba. We appreciate his sailing skills! Even though we booked during the “off season” and several tourist places were not open, the places that were had the most hospitable people and welcomed us with warm smiles and cool drinks.

We charted a 42 foot catamaran that was on it’s maiden charter. The base coordinator used What”s Up app to provide daily weather and guidance. The base was readily available to assist with our questions. We had a great sailing trip and the return check out was nice and easy. A bottle of champagne at the end was a super touch as was the welcome box with local delights.
-
Great experiance with a 7 day charter on the Dalmatian coast. We chartered a 42.5 ft cat with skipper. The boat was in excellent condition and the skipper (Anja) was absolutely fantastic. Will definitely be back!

I was crew for this sailing adventure and not the captain. The Moorings facility in Marina Argana was very nice and the staff were friendly, professional, and helpful. Facilities at the marina are nice. We sailed a nearly new Moorings 42 catamaran and it was a nice size for a crew of 8. The catamaran only sails about 60 degrees to windward, but on a reach and downwind it sailed very well. Most of the systems worked on the boat, except for the starboard side holding tank which filled and would not empty halfway through the trip. So all 8 of the crew ended up sharing the two heads on the port side of the boat. We were glad those port bathrooms worked. Marina Argana is an extremely convenient location for access to the Croatian islands near the historic town of Split.

Our crew was fabulous, Lucy and Mark were extremely professional and a pleasure to be around. We loved our boat and they kept it neat and organized the entire trip. The food was wonderful! Even with picky eaters everyone was very happy with our meals. Dessert each night was a wonderful surprise.
-
The 5 day charter exceeded our expectations! The food prepared by Mark was amazing. Our Captain, Lucy, always went above and beyond to give us the best experience and places to see. Top vacation!
-
Amazing trip, we’ve done Moorings before and it’s the best family trip! Our Capitain Edi Juricic was beyond incredible, so knowledgeable, friendly, just terrific!

Exceptional experience – my first trip to Croatia did not disappoint! Coming from Honolulu, I had high expectations for a boat trip with friends. Captain Edi provided an amazing high quality experience for the all the guests. Edi was such a wonderful ambassador for Croatia and the Moorings – we saw so many beautiful coves and swim spots as well as had several cultural and culinary experiences. Edi coordinated everything so flawlessly attending to every detail to ensure we had a smooth and rewarding trip experience. I felt he took our safety very seriously to make sure we had a secure trip. On a personal level – I found Edi to be very professional and knowledgeable and he had a wonderful sense of humor which made things fun and enjoyable. He is a true asset to the Mooring’s team. I would highly recommend a Croatia Mooring’s trip to others.

My husband, daughter/boyfriend and I spent a week on a Crewed Moorings Charter on 50 foot Catamaran. We sailied visiting islands off the coast of Croatia. It was relaxing but and one of the most enjoyable weeks. The sail was a unique way to visit the Dalmation coast, and each place we went was beautiful, historical; we met kind people and ate amazing food. The Captain, Deni, and the 1st Mate/Chef, Alex, were fantastic I would sail again next month if someone would promise me it would be with them.

Spent a wonderful week with friends on a sailing adventure in BVI. Our captain and chef Andel and Josane were nothing short of wonderful. They made our experience just spectacular. Already can’t wait to return. Highly recommend this crew and the Moorings.
-
My room was top drawer and the hotel property had great amenities including pool bar, restaurant and spa. I had read some troubling reviews before arriving but my experience was the opposite: helpful staff, good food, beautiful property and my room was to die for.

In June 2025, 6/18-6/23, we had the pleasure to sail out of BVI Moorings with Capt Romano and Silvia. This was our 4th sailing with the Moorings and sailing in BVI, our second c=fully chartered – the only way to go
Capt Romano is a very capable sailor and captain – it’s obvious he enjoys sailing and what he does. He runs a tight ship, and I like it that way. It’s so easy to get injured in so many ways aboard a vessel, specially a multi deck sailing yacht. Capt R always keeps an eye out for hidden danger or careless passengers/guests. An injury can instantly turn a dream vacation into a nightmare – for all.
On this sailing, we were extremely fortunate in that the weather and winds fully cooperated – blue skies and gentle breezes accompanied the entire trip….and Capt R put those sails to work, which made for an added experience – truly priceless! As previously mentioned, we’ve sailed the BVI islands on several occasions; HOWEVER, Capt R managed to show us areas of BVI we had not visited or even knew existed. Every morning we’d find ourselves waiting to a serene bay, surrounded by amazing vistas – the best part, we had it
ALL to ourselves with no other boat in sight.
Capt Romano’s skills and knowledge of the islands in BVI make for a wonderful trip! He takes pride in showing his guests the best of BVI and the many secluded beaches/bays that it has to offer – and his “pain killers” are the best!
Our chef was Silvia. She and the Capt. made a great team, which contributed to a great experience. Silvia is a good cook and takes pride in her dishes. I’m a meat and potatoes guy. However, due to some miscommunication we ended up with a different menu. In the end, it worked out great! Her meals were very tasty with more of a Mediterranean flare – which my crew enjoyed, especially my wife! Side note, we almost did not make it to this trip-my wife was battling pancreatic cancer. However, she finished her treatment just in time and her doctors gave her the green light to travel. Silvia’s healthy Mediterranean did wonders for my wife – she’s very limited as to what she can eat and what doesn’t upset her stomach.
Cons
The Moorings needs to “refresh” the rooms in their hotel. True, they have had poor luck with the hurricanes. However, if others were able to rebuild/refresh so can they. While we’re at – make sure to visit Bitter End Yacht Club-they’ve done an awesome job rebuilding. -
Moorings upgraded our party to a 50 foot catamaran and kept our cost the same for the 42 foot catamaran we originally booked. The boat was immaculate and ready to go on time. The Moorings reception was streamlined, polite and a positive experience. In the past I have captained my own yacht, but having never been to Croatia before we opted for a hired skipper. We were assigned Captain Edi who had been leading charters in Croatia for 18 years. I’m so glad we did this because he was thoroughly knowledgeable about the area and took us to all the best places. We had spectacular stops everyday and excellent overnight stopovers. He seemed to know everyone at each place and called ahead for dinner reservations and other special amenities we had requested. It was like sailing with a new good friend having Edi aboard with us. He taught me a lot about differences between sailing and mooring in the Med versus the Caribbean and he did it with a humble grace that I appreciated. We will definitely sail again in Croatia because of its cleanliness, zero crime and utter beauty….Dave

Our group had a great time with Romano and Silvia! Everything about the trip was top notch. Romano was great with finding us great spots to snorkel and swim. Silvia was the constant host and her meals were delicious. Highly recommend a trip with them!

This was our third charter in three years. This year we went with another family and chartered a 50′ catamaran. There were the usual glitches with provisioning but having the grocery store at the marina is a game changer. We really liked the improvements to the marine especially the coffee shop. The boat was in great condition and we had such fun.
