There is no better vacation than a catamaran charter with the Moorings in the BVI’s. We’ve done over a dozen with friends and with family.

It only gets better with a fantastic crew. We had the best. Anis and Tery. Anis is a great skipper/host and Tery is an amazing cook. I didn’t realize how much I liked the Greek cooking style. Subtle but delicious.

We definitely recommend Anis and Tery for a crew and who knows hopefully we will see them again in Greek waters

Full on 10 out of 10.

My husband and I went to the BVI’s for the first time with 5 other people and bare-boated for 10 days. The Moorings Marina facilities were clean; staff friendly and helpful. We were assigned The White Pearl — a pretty 45′ sail cat, ready on time, spotlessly clean and spacious — elicited excited WOW’s”! Check-in and provisioning went smoothly. The Riteway grocery store was a short walk away to pick up fresh fruit, veggies, bread, cheese and wine (note: buy an extra roll of paper towel for ‘clean ups’). The briefing person noticed the helm wheel was a bit stiff and oiled it up before we departed. Microwave needs to be secured — went flying off the shelf when we were sailing. Water-maker didn’t work (we managed by rationing fresh water), however, the generator, engines, rigging, sails, dinghy and nav gear all in functioning order. Could have used a few more than two tea towels in the kitchen and two personal towels each for a 10-day tour. Overall, would recommend – a magical experience, a few bruises and big grins!

What an amazing trip! We chartered the Knotty Toddy with Richard and Shelley as crew. The sail was spectacular. The boat was spotless and the greeting from the crew was warm and welcoming. I would give Shelley a Michelin star for the quality of the food she prepared. Off the charts. Captain Richard knows the BVI’s like the back of his hand so we always moored in the perfect spots and saw the best sunsets. I highly recommend sailing with The Moorings and especially with Richard and Shelley as crew.

We took the 6 day crewed charter with Andy and Linzi with 3 couples all celebrating our 60th birthdays. It was simply amazing. The itinerary was perfectly planned out but with a lot of flexibility depending on our wishes. Andy knew when we should arrive at certain places to avoid large crowds. Andy’s main focus was our safety but it was blended with exceptional and friendly service. The real star of the show other than the amazing scenery was Linzi’s delicious food – 3 meals per day plus 5pm “Nibbles” (hint – bring loose clothing). Overall, this trip exceeded expectations and something we would definitely do again.

We had a blast! 3 couples on a 50′ Sail Cat for 5 days in the lovely BVIs. Moorings did an outstanding job. Check-in and registration was quick and easy. Our boat was clean, in good working order and well equipped. We had a water heater start leaking on the trip and the Mooring chase crew was right there to fix it. We did our charter with a skipper and Captain Laura was amazing. Our previsions were spot on. We will do this again.

I chartered a boat with crew for my 50th birthday celebration and it exceeded expectations. We had a BLAST. The captain had a great balance of being present and involved but also giving us our space. The food was spectacular. Fresh, delicious, different every meal. And the chef really paid attention to our preferences and all our allergies and restrictions, which was not easy I’m sure. Every meal was a celebration with gorgeous table decor and fantastic service. We honestly rarely left the boat b/c we were having so much fun. Everyone on the trip was already talking about doing this again b/c it was the best vacation we had ever taken together. HIGHLY recommend!

We had a wonderful trip with friends in the BVI. Captain Richard was knowledgeable, helpful and meticulous. We had unusually high winds that week but he was able to adjust his sailing and moorings accordingly. He also prepared wonderful signature drinks to go along with our appetizers. Chef Shelly ( aka Birdie) worked tirelessly in the kitchen to prepare amazing meals and presented them beautifully. She also never missed a mooring ball and knew her way around the boat too.
I wouldn’t hesitate recommending this charter and crew for your BVI adventures.

Organization was great. In particular, the crew was outstanding. Anis, the captain is a highly experienced and capable sailor & we felt very safe in his hands! We had the most incredible adventure on Seas The Day with Captain Andy and Chef Linzi! Andy’s knowledge of sailing and the BVI was very impressive and much appreciated and Linzi’s meals stand up against any gourmet restaurant you might enjoy. Our days were carefully planned and executed by our crew, and we never lifted a finger. Some days were filled with adventure, and some included our favorite book and an afternoon nap. As this was our first charter experience in BVI, we did not know what to expect. I can say that our expectations were definitely exceeded, and our crew was a big reason for that! We looked forward to our nibbles at 5pm, along with Captain Andy’s drink of the day. The seas were a bit “sporty” but I felt completely safe knowing Captain Andy was at the helm. Loved our morning briefings and chart lessons. The boat was so clean and very well stocked. Would highly recommend this dynamic duo. They really made the trip for us. We had the best Captain who was on top of scheduling everything for us. He kept the fun going all week and he made sure that we did not miss any hot spots. The British Virgin Islands are beautiful! We enjoyed great snorkeling, beaches, and picturesque open-air restaurants. We had 4 couples and rented The Moorings 50’ catamaran. The boat had four areas to hang out and enjoy the views. The beds were comfortable and there was more than ample storage in every room, including under the deck storage for luggage, carry-on bags, etc. We cooked some meals on board. -The boat we rented was ready when we got there, clean, and in good mechanical order,
-Our captain is what made the whole trip special…Capt. Kevin (Jamba)

Jamba was one step ahead of us the whole trip. He sat with us the first day, went over all the safety stuff, discussed possible itineraries, and with his suggestions, we explored the BVI’s knowing we were in good hands.

He made sure we had a great time, were safe and was one step ahead of us the entire trip making every day’s activities go without a hitch. The 50′ boat (with A/C) was very comfortable and met all of our needs. We did have an issue with the freshwater generation system, but the captain helped us manage this well. We highly recommend getting a captain even if you are an experience boater. He took all the stress out of day-to-day planning and execution. This was our ninth bareboat charter with Mooring and our third from their Tortola base. We’ve also bareboat chartered with Moorings in the Bahamas, St. Lucia, Belize and Tahiti. And, to provide some context, we’ve been bareboat charting in the BVI’s every couple of years since our first time, on our honeymoon, in 1980, so we have experience with several different charter companies. Overall, from start to finish, this was an excellent charter. We were on an almost new 4200 catamaran and all systems, including engines, generator, water maker, air conditioning, rigging and sails, gas grill and oven/range, dinghy and outboard, and navigation equipment performed perfectly. We had one, very minor issue with some cabin lights not coming on, and I called Moorings tech support to ask for some guidance on trouble shooting the issue. Even though we were moored at the Bitter End on Virgin Gorda, they had a technician at our boat in under an hour to resolve the issue. What is most impressive to us is how Moorings makes you feel like you are the only boat and crew starting or ending a charter in Tortola. This charter was at the very height of their busy season and we were told they had over sixty boats going out that day (a Saturday). Even so, when we arrived at the base first thing in the morning with a car load of provisions, many requiring refrigeration or frozen, they immediately got it all into an ice locker until our boat was ready. It was a great family sail and my wife and I have already booked a 4200 in Tahiti for this November.

We’re just back from a week aboard Sea’s The Day in the BVIs and had the most relaxing, informative, and all-around wonderful time.

Weeks before our visit, we had a Zoom meetup with Captain Andy who discussed with us our travel, meal and beverage interests and preferences. Once on board, Chef Linzi and Andy made us feel immediately welcome and at home. We soon recognized that our interests and preferences were taken to heart – everything was perfect – the meal choices, the drink options, the travel itinerary, and even the weather (however they pulled that one together is beyond me). We couldn’t have asked for better.

Sea’s The Day is clean and roomy and gorgeous. The multiple seating and relaxing areas make the boat feel extremely large. We had a party of 8 (plus Linzi and Andy), and never once felt that we were on top of one another. The personal cabins were all plenty roomy and cozy. Temperature controls worked perfectly and we all slept deeply and comfortably each night.

Linzi is an absolute black-belt in the kitchen and her meals were always suuuper tasty, healthy, and were presented with an artistic flair. I cannot praise her talents enough. Andy, during his daily briefings, proved to be a great communicator, and a humorous storyteller, in addition to being an unquestionably solid captain.

If you’re looking for THE EXCEPTIONAL BVI cruising experience, look no further than Sea’s The Day and the crew of Linzi and Andy. You won’t find better.
