Marigot Bay
Tucked away below the verdant hilltops on the west side of St. Lucia, Marigot Bay is a secluded anchorage for boaters seeking a relaxing, quiet harbor during their journey along the coast. One of the most scenic bays in the Caribbean, the penultimate day of your 7-day St Lucia and Martinique sailing itinerary will be full of beautiful greenery and excellent restaurants.
Charming homes overlook the seas in a colorful collage of white and red-topped roofs. Waterfront restaurants offer an array of French, Creole, and Caribbean cuisine with the added benefit of jaw-dropping sunset views.

Mooring
Anchor outside the bay for fresh air or sail right inside the bay pick up a mooring buoy from the Marigot bay Marina or head to the docks to spend the night. They can be reached at Vhf 12 or 16. It would be a good idea to call first before picking up any moorings as they will record your vessel into their system which gives you access to the hotel facilities including the pools, bars, and restaurants.

Things to do
- Take a sightseeing tour of the surrounding land and explore this beautiful mangrove-lined bay, famous as a hurricane harbor.
- The nearby Marina Village features a variety of unique stores and boutiques perfect for shopping.
- As you enter the harbor Marigot Beach Club and Dive Resort will be located on your left, where you can choose one of their dining options. Whether you stop in for just a drink or for a three-course gourmet dinner, they never disappoint. You can also enjoy delicious food and drink at restaurants such as Chauteau Mygo and JJ’s restaurant.

St Lucia Marine Park
Head to St. Lucia’s marine park for excellent diving and views of the numerous shallow reefs near the shore. If you love scuba diving and snorkeling, you can enjoy incredible snorkeling near the base of the iconic Pitons, at Anse de Pitons.
This is one of the most popular snorkeling spots in St Lucia, loved by advanced and novice snorkelers alike. Anse Cochon
Explore Anse Cochon’s breathtaking beaches filled with picturesque island views and incredibly laid-back vibes. The secluded bay of Anse Cochon is a popular stop on many St. Lucia sailing itineraries as you can snorkel or dive the crystal clear waters to explore 3 different wrecks.
Mooring
Mooring balls are available for a fee. Note that red mooring balls are reserved for dive boats; other vessels can anchor in the middle of the bay.

Snorkeling, swimming, sunbathing, and diving are the main activities at Anse Cochon, making it a relaxing stop on your sailing itinerary in St. Lucia.

While there are no formal yacht facilities at Anse Cochon, its natural beauty makes it a rewarding stop for a peaceful break, just make sure you are stocked with provisions.
Anse Chastanet
Sail across to Anse Chastanet for breakfast and drop anchor close to the small jetty in the bay. Anse Chastanet and Anse Mamin are the two beaches located here. With the Pitons, you can soak up mountain views and enjoy the day with this striking backdrop these two mountains create. Here the reef extends seaward from the beach, displaying a beautiful array of colors and wildlife just below the surface. This is the perfect spot to snorkel and explore the natural beauty of this island; a highlight of St. Lucia sailing itineraries.
*Please note if the wind is not favorable to overnight here, please visit as a lunch stop, and overnight an additional night at Pitons Bay or Anse Cochon, which both have safe overnight anchorages.

Things to do
The best things to do in Anse Chastanet include hiking, snorkeling, swimming, and birdwatching. Head down to the beach restaurant, which is perfect for lunch by the sea.

While there are no yacht facilities at this stop, the peaceful setting and excellent snorkeling make it a memorable part of any sailing itinerary in St. Lucia.
Pitons Bay
Cruise over to the majestic twin Pitons and pick up a mooring buoy just off Sugar Beach, part of the Viceroy Resort. If you would rather spend time in the water with one of these two dormant volcano plugs, you can snorkel the base of Gros Piton or arrange for a dive of the Piton Wall. This dramatic anchorage is a must-see on any sailing itinerary in St. Lucia.

Mooring balls are available from the Soufrière Marine Management Area (SMMA).
Things to do
There’s plenty to experience both above and below the water at Pitons Bay. Hiking, snorkeling, diving, paddleboarding, and taking a dinghy ashore to explore Sugar Beach. The snorkeling and diving here are some of the best on the island, with vibrant coral formations and marine life along the famous Piton Wall. Whether you’re up for adventure or simply want to unwind with a view, Pitons Bay delivers.

There are no facilities for yachts here, so it’s best to come prepared with everything you need for a comfortable stay on board.
Malgretoute Bay
Gros Piton is located in Soufriere, a picture-perfect relatively underdeveloped town situated in a scenic wonderland. One of the most popular activities among tourists visiting The Pitons is to climb to the top of Gros Piton. For those who are into hiking, this is sure to get your heart rate up. It is a long hike, and we suggest wearing sturdy shoes for this.
Mooring
Pick up a mooring or drop anchor at Malgretoute Bay. This area is still a reserve and controlled by the park rangers.
Things to do
Explore Toraille Falls, Sulphur Springs, Diamond Botanical Gardens and Falls, the Tet Paul Nature Trail, Piton Falls, and the Toraille to Mt. Gimie Excursion. Tours can be pre-arranged. Enjoy a relaxed dinner at Harmony Restaurant after a day of adventure.

Basic services are available here, including dock space, water, fuel, and restaurants. It’s a convenient stop for provisioning or pausing between nature-based excursions.
Sailing Day/Anse Cochon
Set off from Malgretoute bay for a day of sailing, or break out the fishing poles and catch dinner off the coast. These are some of the best cruising grounds to enjoy as part of a St. Lucia sailing itinerary. Make sure to keep an eye out for dolphins and turtles along the way. Once you have completed your day sail, head back to Anse Cochon to anchor for the night.

Things to do
Spend the day sailing these scenic waters, with plenty of opportunities for line fishing, spotting marine life, and enjoying open-water cruising. Once anchored back at Anse Cochon, snorkel the nearby reefs, swim in calm waters, sunbathe on the quiet beach, or dive one of the bay’s three wrecks. It’s an ideal way to wind down your St. Lucia sailing itinerary.

Pigeon Island
For the last day of charter, enjoy the journey over to Pigeon Island. Drop your anchor and enjoy the clear blue water, white sandy beach, and the vibrant marine life of this anchorage. Explore the National Park, especially Fort Rodney, a scenic and historic spot that’s perfect for hiking. Pigeon Island offers a peaceful and memorable end to your St. Lucia sailing itinerary.
Mooring
Anchoring is the only option at Pigeon Island, just off the beach near the National Park. The seabed offers good holding in sand, but be sure to give space to swimmers and day boats. Arrive early during busy periods, as it’s a popular spot for day visitors.
Things to do
Swim or snorkel in the calm waters, then go ashore to explore Pigeon Island National Park. Hike up to Fort Rodney for panoramic views, visit the museum to learn about the island’s history, or relax on the beach. End the day with dinner at Jambe de Bois, a laid-back spot with Caribbean flavour and live music on some nights.

There are no yacht facilities here, so come prepared, but the natural setting and easy access to the island make it well worth the visit.
