We would also advise that you contact your airline for the most up to date information around entry requirements and re-entry to your home country.

While the Islands of Tahiti are opening their borders for international travelers, certain Policies and Procedures will need to be followed when entering the country, before and during your stay there. Please bookmark this page as travel updates are frequently announced.

Before You Go

 

All Travelers:
 
  • Tahiti does not require Travel insurance for you to enter but some airlines do. Please check with your airline if this is a requirement for your travels
  • Submit your full guest list in advance of travel to us via the manage my booking link 

Fully Vaccinated Travelers:

  • Proof of "complete vaccination schedule" (CDC vaccination card). 

    A person is considered fully vaccinated 7 days after receiving the second dose of Moderna, Pfizer-BioNTech, AstraZeneca, or Novavax.

    A person is considered fully vaccinated 28 days after receiving the dose of Johnson & Johnson (Janssen) vaccine.

    When a traveler has completed a full vaccination (1 dose Janssen or 2 doses Pfizer / Moderna / Astrazeneca / Novavax ), a booster shot is required before travelling to French Polynesia if the last dose is 9 months or older. If the last dosage was prior to 9 months, and travel to French Polynesia is within 9 months , a booster shot is not required.

Partially or Unvaccinated Travelers: 

  • EITHER a negative RT-PCR test carried out within 72 hours (3 days) of departure, or a negative Antigen test carried out within 48 hours (2 days) of departure. 
The test results must clearly state:

- A negative result
- Test type being RT-PCR or Antigen
- Date test taken
- Name of individual/passenger

 

  • OR a certificate of recovery dated no earlier than 11 days after contamination by Covid-19 and the associated positive viral test result. The certificate of recovery is valid for six (6) months from the date of viral test.

 


 Antigenic Test at Departure From Tahiti

  • For passengers departing to the United States requiring a negative COVID-19 test prior to boarding, the test center at the Faa’a international airport will be reopened on May 1st.
  • A this stage, the center will open on days when flights to the US are scheduled from noon until 6:30 PM.

When You Arrive

All Travelers:

  • On arrival in Tahiti, all travelers are subject to additional tests carried out by the authorities.The results are sent within a maximum of 72 hours by email. These results may be demanded at any time by the local authorities. Failure to present may result in a sanction or a fine.

Fully Vaccinated Travelers:

  • Must take a self administered antigenic test on arrival

Partially or Unvaccinated Travelers (Including unvaccinated children over the age of 6): 

  • Must take a self administered antigenic test on arrival
  • Must take a PCR test on Day 4 and Day 8 during quarantine

Travelers with proven Immunity: 

  • Must take a self administered antigenic test on arrival
  • Must take a virological test on day 4

During Your Charter


  • Before departing from the base, the head charter guest must sign a document that explains the steps to follow should there be a suspected case of COVID-19 onboard. This document must be kept in the chart table
  • For bareboat charters, please bring with you a copy of the skipper’s passport and sailing licence
  • If you test positive for COVID-19 during your charter, please get in touch with your insurance provider for advice. You would quarantine on the yacht until the end of your charter. If you still test positive at the end of your charter, you will need to finish your quarantine in a hotel. 
  • We are dedicated to giving you peace of mind when you charter with us. Our industry-leading safety measures include the fogging and disinfecting of all yachts before each charter begins.

COVID-19 Testing Centers in Tahiti

Children 6 and older traveling with fully vaccinated parents:

  • Self-tests will be provided upon arrival at Papeete International Airport (PPT). The base will give you instructions on where to drop off your test kits. There are drop-off locations on each of the islands you will explore on charter.
  • Antigenic test can be done at the ILM test center at the airport or in Papeete or list of pharmarcies: https://fr.calameo.com/read/0034615034dc8a22a371b
  • Antigen testing can be obtained at any of the drug stores.
