Karlo, Sara & Ella

Chef Sara. Sara, born and raised in Croatia, discovered her love for cooking at an early age while exploring traditional Croatian recipes with her grandmother. In 2021, she entered the yachting industry, combining her studies in Maritime Engineering and Information Technology with her passions for sailing and culinary arts. She quickly realized that her love of the sea and her cooking skills were the perfect combination for life aboard a yacht.

Sara learned from her grandmother the art of thinking creatively in the kitchen. She personalizes every menu to the tastes of her guests, using only the freshest ingredients and produce to craft a variety of delicious dishes. Her culinary style, which she calls “when old meets modern,” ranges from vegan and vegetarian meals to fresh seafood and traditional Mediterranean cuisine. Guests often rave about her famous Shrimp Risotto and decadent Chocolate Miracle dessert, both guaranteed to leave you wanting more.

When not in the kitchen, Sara enjoys exploring nature and the water. Whether walking across scenic islands or snorkeling, she loves sharing small, unique souvenirs from the sea with her guests. Her warm personality, dedication, and culinary expertise ensure that every guest enjoys a relaxing, memorable, and delicious experience aboard.

Stew Ella. Ella is a highly motivated and personable steward, with a lifelong passion for watersports and over a decade of experience in high-end hospitality. With a background in elite client service, including her time working with a Royal Charter Ballet Company, Ella is dedicated to delivering an exceptional standard of service and going above and beyond to create unforgettable memories for guests.

Prior to joining The Moorings, Ella worked aboard a private motor yacht in the Mediterranean as a sole deckhand, stewardess, and nanny. She also sailed in Northern France and was part of the delivery crew for a 1937 sailing ketch to its new berth—an experience that deepened her love for life at sea.

A competitive rower since the age of 13, Ella brings her athletic spirit and enthusiasm to every charter. Her creativity, good humour, and professionalism shine through in everything she does, whether suggesting exciting excursions or crafting memorable moments for guests on board.

With a strong background in hospitality—including managing restaurants, acting as a brand ambassador, and leading service at weddings and festivals—Ella thrives in customer-facing roles. Her signature cocktails, the refreshing Limoncello Spritz and the classic English Bramble, are always a hit with guests, adding an extra touch of indulgence to their charter experience.

*A Moorings 5800 will be crewed by a professional captain and gourmet chef. For charters with more than 8 guests, an additional steward/ess may be provided however this is subject to availability.
