Moorings/Sunsail is always our go-to for chartering but I have to say the team at the Abacos base in Marsh Harbour were absolutely the friendliest, nicest we have had the pleasure of working with, will definitely be back.

Everything was top notch. Check-in was efficient but most of all the crew was fantastic. We could not ask for better service and nicer people. Extremely professional, knowledgeable and most importantly extremely friendly. This was a family trip for us and both George (Captain) and Gabriela (chef) felt like they were part of our family. We had tons of fun and plenty of laughs throughout the week. The weather was perfect and the locations found by our Captain were spectacular.

Very well kept boats and facilities. Staff is courteous and professional.

Moorings delivered as advertised. Great experience! Our skipper Marlon knocked it out of the park. He was not only an experienced captain but became part of our family. My grandkids loved him and he was great with them. His network of friends in the BVI made our vacation more memorable and spontaneous the we could have planned. We’re there in the off season and because of Marlon’s connections we had five star lobster dinner at sunset on the beach in Anagoda. We were the only family on the beach and had exceptional personalized service. I can’t say enough good about Captain Marlon.

Nice boat, great support, Laurent at the base is a superstar. Helpful, friendly, knowledgeable. Loved him!

Our crew (Cosy & Jan) are amazing. The food was delicious, and of course, the sailing was beautiful.

We had the BEST vacation aboard Mclovin Life catamaran! Captain Andy and Chef Linzi were excellent and exceeded all of our expectations! Captain Andy planned the perfect itinerary, we stopped at a variety of places in the BVI’s and each one was perfect for our family! We were so happy that Andy LOVES to sail and we were able to enjoy having the sails up while cruising the beautiful waters. And Linzi is an amazing chef! Every meal she created was well thought out and delicious! We especially loved her evening “ nibbles”
and Andy’s specialty cocktails every evening while watching the sun set. We challenged them with helping us celebrate a gender reveal and an engagement , both of which could not have been more perfect. Saying thank you to them both seems so inadequate, the memories that were made are priceless! ❤️

We had the most amazing experience on our catamaran cruise in BVI! Our captain and assistant were truly above and beyond anything we could have hoped for. The service was top notch and the food was absolutely delicious and extravagant. We loved sailing thru BVI to all of the beautiful islands with our friends and would highly recommend The Moorings! Each stop was more beautiful than the last one.

This is a trip that was discussed for years and finally planned and taken. Two couples, family, retirement age, and active. The Moorings team was excellent with their communications for the booking and information needed to help us decide on the vessel. We decided on a Crewed (Captain only as we all enjoy cooking), 40′ motor catamaran. Five nights on board. With no prior experience of this sort of vacation, we relied on Lee, our captain to take us where we described and visited Norman Island (mooring ball), Virgin Gorda (dock), Leverick Bay (mooring), Bitter Bay (mooring), Scrub Island (dock), and Cane Garden Bay (mooring).

A wonderful time was had by all. We cooked on board 3 nights and ate at 2 super restaurants the nights we docked (CocoMaya – VG, Cardamum – SI).

Some advice for 1st-timers. We arrived a couple of days before our boarding day. The Moorings provides an extensive “provisioning” (aka groceries) web site that we found daunting, particularly with not knowing the space available on the boat. We visited the marina and had the chance to see the space before shopping in their supermarket, which is also at the marina – the great thing is that our shopping was stored overnight and delivered to our boat. Mooring balls and docks/docking – there are fees associated with these, which we were unaware of – take note.

Our power catamaran trip through Croatia was nothing short of perfect. From the moment we stepped aboard, everything exceeded our expectations. The catamaran was spacious, comfortable, and impeccably maintained, providing the ideal balance of luxury and relaxation.
What truly made this trip extra special was our captain, Johnny. His experience, professionalism, and deep knowledge of the Croatian coastline gave us complete confidence from day one, but it was his personal touch that elevated the entire experience. Johnny went above and beyond to make sure every detail of our trip was perfect. He always seemed to know exactly where to take us, whether it was a secluded swimming spot, a beautiful hidden cove, or a charming town we might have otherwise missed.
Beyond his expertise on the water, Johnny was incredibly attentive and resourceful. If there was anything we needed onshore, he made it happen. He shared fantastic local recommendations, arranged reservations at outstanding restaurants, and somehow always secured the best tables with the most spectacular views. His local connections and knowledge of the area made every stop feel effortless and exclusive.
Just as importantly, Johnny brought a warm, fun, and friendly energy to every day. He quickly felt like part of our group, sharing stories, making us laugh, and helping create a relaxed atmosphere that made the trip even more enjoyable. His genuine enthusiasm and dedication to ensuring everyone had an amazing time did not go unnoticed. Without a doubt, Captain Johnny was the highlight of our experience and a huge reason why this vacation was so memorable. We would enthusiastically recommend him to anyone considering a trip like this.
Cruising along Croatia’s stunning coastline with a group of close friends created memories we’ll never forget. Each day brought breathtaking scenery, from crystal-clear turquoise waters and hidden coves to charming island towns filled with history, culture, and incredible food. The flexibility of the catamaran allowed us to explore secluded beaches, enjoy spontaneous swimming stops, and watch unforgettable sunsets from the deck.
The smooth ride and generous living spaces made life onboard incredibly enjoyable. Whether we were sharing meals, sunbathing, paddleboarding, or simply enjoying a drink while taking in the views, every moment felt special. Johnny’s expertise and sense of fun added so much to the experience, and the combination of adventure, comfort, and great company made this one of the best vacations we’ve ever experienced.
Croatia is a spectacular destination, and exploring it by power catamaran is truly the ultimate way to experience its beauty. We would recommend this trip to anyone looking for an unforgettable getaway with friends. Five stars all around!

Our family has been sailing with the moorings in the BVIs for over 30 years. We decided to try the skippered option to see if we would enjoy it. Now that the trip is complete, I have to say the whole process was a great success. Joao (JP) was our skipper and it couldn’t have gone better. Not only was he an incredible boat captain, he was always so patient and polite with the kids. He quickly became part of the family.
These trips are always enjoyable but having Joao as our skipper made for the perfect family vacation.

As a travel advisor who planned this group trip, there’s always a little pressure hoping everyone loves an experience as much as you envisioned. But this week exceeded every expectation and became so much more than any of us could have imagined.
Before arriving, we worried a little about provisioning and having enough food onboard. We quickly learned that the Croatian islands are filled with incredible bays, charming waterfront restaurants, and unforgettable dining experiences that made every evening feel special.
And lucky for us, our captain knew all the spots. Everywhere we arrived, faces lit up as soon as they saw Johnny. He’s not only an incredibly accomplished captain, but also one of the most fun, engaging personalities to spend a week with. The reality is, you’re sharing your space with your captain all week long, and they can absolutely make or break your experience. Johnny doesn’t just captain the boat — he elevates the entire journey.
We sailed on a 46’ power catamaran and felt like it was the perfect setup for our group. It offered plenty of space, comfort, and the freedom to discover some of the most beautiful corners of Croatia.
A few tips:
• Request extra pillows
• Request extra towels
• Request extra linens
This was truly one of those trips that will be talked about for years to come.

This is our third trip from Moorings (but different offices) and the ships are getting better and better. All the cushions were in place, the heads were not smelly, everything was working and nothing was missing. The send out and receiving in was fast smooth and professional.

One of the best Mooring bases we have ever been. Crew is very professional. Boats are in great condition. Walkthrough and instructions are very thorough. May is usually not crowded at all. Prices are reasonable. The provisioning store is not too far and everyone is helpful with calling a taxi or a van for delivering provisions.

Your great sense of humour, engaging mind, amazing knowledge of the islands and your determination to guide us through an unforgettable 7 day cruise, finding all the best coves with crystal clear waters and a fine array of authentic restaurants with nothing ever being too much trouble. It has been a real privilege to spend the week cruising the Southern Islands with you.

Absolutely loved our time chartering in Belize and felt well taken care of by the Sunsail/Moorings team (thank you Kevin and Mateo!). Had a great boat, great weather, and loved all the different island stops. Such a treat, we will be back!

Our family of 7 loves adventure, good food, as well as relaxation, and this trip did not disappoint! We were well taken care of with 5-star service through the entire week. Our Captain George and Chef Silvi were top notch, professional, and showed us all that the BVI’s have to offer. The catamaran (Funky Miracle) was well appointed and allowed us to have a great time paddle boarding, kayaking, snorkeling, knee boarding, and lounging in the large inflatable. The meals were world class and provided a variety we all loved. Absolutely one of the best vacations we’ve ever had! We would love to sail with them again!

Captain Steph and First Mate Julia did a phenomenal job for our group from start to finish! They navigated the perfect itinerary, secured great mooring locations and the cuisine and drinks were excellent! We would 10/10 recommend sailing the BVI’s with this crew!

We spent an amazing week of sailing with Captain Laura! The BVI continues to be one of Earth’s beautiful locations and we were so pleased to share it with our kids and spouses who had not been. The boat was in great shape, and we had no issues during our 7-day charter. It was especially fun because the wind was blowing pretty hard for May and we loved our long sailing days! Captain Laura was very flexible with our destinations, allowed us to help out as mates, and took incredible care of all six of us. She is conscientious, friendly, engaging, and exudes confidence as a captain. We would definitely sail again with Laura!

Our family of eight had the best possible experience with Andy and Linzi during their last voyage on Sea’s the Day in BVI. They have now moved to a new boat, McLovin life, which should be equally fantastic. Andy’s itinerary for the week covered all of the major islands in BVI, including a full day on Anegada. He handled the boat with phenomenal expertise and paired stories to each day‘s adventure. Every single meal that Linzi prepared was exquisite, including her famous pre-dinner nibbles with boat drinks. The cabins were very clean with daily cabin service and provided comfortable lodging for all eight adults. My whole family agreed that this was the best vacation we have taken to date.

We had sailing with Moorings in BVi and Nassau but this is by far the best managed base we had chartered from. Renee (base manager) runs a well-organized base. Diego did a very thorough chart briefing and Kevin did an excellent ship walk thru. Boats were very clean and fresh, nothing missing, nothing broken (nothing essential, anyway), very clean and nice boats. Highly recommend Moorings in Placencia.

We had a wonderful experience with Dino and Anna. They were absolutely wonderful and made the trip. The planning of the trip by Dino (our skipper) and the meal prep by Anna was amazing! The scenery was amazing!!!

This was our 2nd time sailing with the Moorings. We had sailed in Tahiti a few years back. We decided to go sail Belize and we are so glad we did. We chartered a 50ft catamaran and hired a local captain which is a must in my opinion. The boat was beautiful and plenty of room for the 10 of us. Each couple had their own cabin and bathroom which includes a shower. Separate air condition thermostats in the room was a great feature. Full kitchen with all the accessories. Comfortable seating inside as well as out back and up top on the flybridge.
The Moorings helped us with transportation to their location and to the local market where we purchased our provisions for our journey. Make sure you go with more provisions than you think. Especially beverages including water! Tough to get provisions once you’re out on the water! We opted to do most of our own cooking but did venture to a few hidden places out on the water! We met the captain, loaded our gear and had a short briefing before taking off from the marina. Belize has some of the prettiest water you’ll ever see. Our captain was amazing! Captain Dwayne knew all the best places to see, places to go snorkeling and best places to catch a happy hour or meal. Capt. Dwayne is a true Waterman! You can tell he loves being on the water and sailing the catamaran. His knowledge of Belize and all its waters and reefs was truly impressive. Very accommodating to what we were interested in. I truly believe being out on the water for a week beats staying at a resort and doing excursions to some of the reef locations we visited. We just anchored or moored and woke up to amazing sunrises and ready to jump right into the water. Rays, sharks and plenty of sea life. Even a turtle! LOL. Beautiful coral formations too! It was really difficult to sail back to port but the lasting memories of our journey with our crew and Capt. D will always remain! In my opinion, the relative cost for a trip and experience like this is priceless but the Moorings offers a cost effective and affordable option for most travelers. You can do it cost conscious or go full board with a Capt. and Chef and have everything handled for you! Everyone should experience this type of vacation at least once! The Moorings can handle that for you and they have other locations that you sail from!

We just finished a week long visit to BVI visiting Tortola, Cooper, Scrub, Bitter End, Leverick, Anegada, Jost Van Dyke, and Norman. Our Captain Sebastien Varite was fantastic. His level of hospitality, knowledge of the area, professionalism (and Crepes!) were of top caliber. I highly recommend requesting him to help your trip be its best!! The boat was new and well satisfied our needs. A wonderful family adventure and forever memories!

We sailed with the Moorings 50 foot catamaran in Croatia recently with 6 friends and had a wonderful experience! Johnny Ante was our Captain and did an incredible job. He got us to each island we were scheduled for and was flexible when we had to make a few changes, he recommended things to do at each port, had many friends at each one which resulted in us obtaining good mooring spots and reservations to great restaurants that he helped reserve for us. He was super personable and great to be with. The boat was beautiful, clean, and well stocked with everything you need from cooking pots to wine glasses. The Moorings had good customer service and offered clothes washing services at their facility which we were grateful for. I highly recommend the Moorings and ask for Johnny…you won’t be disappointed!!
