Brand Ambassador Bio: Captain Glenn Shephard

Captain Glenn Shephard has joined The Moorings as the company’s first-ever Brand Ambassador. He is a professional sailor with over 25 years of experience in the Sailing Superyacht industry and more than 200,000 nautical miles logged at sea—including 22 Atlantic crossings.

He began sailing in 1984 and has owned and operated his own boats since 1992, starting with a Jeanneau 34-footer and now living aboard a Jeanneau 42DS. Over the course of his career, Glenn has become a fixture in elite international superyacht sailing, serving as First Officer and relief yard captain aboard Mirabella V (now M5), the world’s largest single-masted sloop at 75 meters (250 feet), and spending more than a decade as Captain of the 54-meter Perini Navi charter yacht, Parsifal III.

Glenn was on the Aloha Racing Team in the 2000 America’s Cup, helping build two IACC Cup boats in Honolulu for the competition in Auckland, New Zealand. He has competed in and earned podium finishes in many of the world’s most prestigious sailing superyacht regattas, including the Perini Navi Cup, St. Barths Bucket, Loro Piana Virgin Gorda, and Palma Superyacht Regatta.

He holds a UK Master 3,000 ton Certificate of Competency (CoC), the highest-level yachting captain’s license issued by the UK Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA)—the gold standard for international yachting certification. (For reference, Parsifal III is 460 tons.)

Now widely recognized for his starring role on Bravo’s Below Deck Sailing Yacht, Glenn blends deep technical knowledge with calm, charismatic leadership and global relatability. He currently lives full-time aboard his personal yacht, stationed in the Mediterranean, and brings a lifetime of seafaring experience to his role as the first-ever Brand Ambassador for The Moorings.
