The boat was great, staff was knowledgeable and helpful and it was a great overall experience.

Excellent service and quality of boats

The experience was far better than we had even hoped. It was my first experience with the Moorings and the team was professional and clearly well organized in setting our trip up for success. Aided by the spectacular setting of the BVI and with a little God-given beautiful weather, and it was even better than we hoped!

The trip was amazing and in our short period of time our skipper knew exactly where to take us.

Our skipper and chef (Theo and Martina) were absolute pros and provided a phenomenal experience. They knew the BVI’s and the boat really well and were amazing at applying their experience to our preferences to create a dream trip for us. They clearly went out of their way for us and kept the boat in terrific shape.

Solid fleet management and lots of options for destinations

Service and communication were great. The boat was clean and well equipped. Transport from the airport to our boat was seamless. Our captain (Leroy) was great—professional, knowledgeable and friendly!

Andy & Linzi Horton on Seas The Day were fantastic. The itinerary was awesome and the meals Linzi prepared were out of this world.

The boat was perfect for our group. Accommodations were very comfortable with the best towels and sheets. Cosy is a very professional captain and Jan is a very talented chef. They spoiled us and clearly work very well together. We didn’t need anything other than what was provided. The food and cocktails were all high quality. It was a perfect trip in every way.

We’ve chartered with the Moorings in the Abacos, Belize, and 4 times in the BVI. We like the people and the service. The one thing we’ve learned is to check the boats as best we can before leaving the dock. We experienced a leaking porthole during a rain shower that was fixed immediately. The Moorings has always been responsive to issues after leaving the dock, so don’t hesitate to contact them. Examples for us have been airconditioning issues in one hull, generators that weren’t charging the batteries, anchor lights out, and an engine alarm going off. All were repaired except for the anchor lights on two boats. So our advice would be check out what you can before leaving the dock, and do not hesitate to call for technical support while crusiing – in the BVI the Moorings response time is 4 hours, and the techs are very competitent.

Nika & Francesco were amazing! They took my family and I on the most amazing tour of the BVI’s and made it truly special catering to our every request. They were amazing hosts of the boat and the islands with expert knowledge every step of the way. I would definitely recommend sailing with them, you can tell that they love what they are doing!

Beautiful new boat and the help getting going was awesome. We had one issue so had to come back to the fuel dock but their tech jumped on it and fixed it quickly. Wonderful adventure and will definitely do it again.

The BVI are a special place and to see it from a boat for a week was spectacular! We had a really good experience with the Moorings and the boat we rented, Ohm Sweet Ohm. We did a “bare boat” with just a captain.

First off, the boat. It was spacious, 5 berths and though it was 3 years old, it was in pretty good shape. We did have a few problems during our week. Our first night out, the water maker and water heater went out. The water heater was able to be bypassed the whole week with the water being heated by the engine. The captain was able to limp through the next few days with water maker, with is sporadically working and not working until the water maker completely burned out on day 4. The water maker burning out caused the generator to fail. The generator was repaired on the water in Virgin Gorda, but the water maker could not be. We had to make stops to get our water tanks refilled at some of the docks on the islands. Not a huge deal, but worth mentioning.

Our captain was really great, if a tad inexperienced. He preferred motoring to most places, despite some days with good wind. We really wanted to sail more, but I don’t think he felt terribly comfortable. My wife has sailed since her teens and tried to coax it a bit, but he was pretty set on putting the sails down.

All in all I would use Moorings again, but I would certainly look around at the other charter companies.

We recently went on a five (5) day family trip with Captain Giacomo B (“Captain Jack”). We did a similar trip many years ago and the family has alway wanted to go back.

We were not disappointed. Booking and preparation was easy. The Moorings facilities and services have all been enhanced and make the process simple and convenient.

The boat was outfitted as we requested, including paddle boards and kayaks.

Jack was a great fit for our group. He handled the boat well and was there whenever we needed him to answer questions and provide dinghy transportation to snorkeling spots and shore trips.

We had specific locations and activities planned and Jack was able to facilitate all of our requests. However, when we didn’t have a plan for the day or when our plans could be improved, Jack provided numerous options and recommendations to enhance our experience. That is not an easy task with our group.

All of his suggestions were perfect and made our days more enjoyable.

If you want to enjoy a relaxing, easy trip in the Caribbean, we highly recommend The Moorings and Captain Jack.

First of all, the captain makes the trip. We were lucky enough to have captain kedon. He was fun, friendly and very professional. The boat fit all our needs. My only complaint is that there was not a grill brush to clean the grill and a pizza cutter. Very minimal things. Other than that it was amazing.

If you plan to book a sailing trip in the bvi’s through the Moorings, you must request Captain Levi, Chef Lauren and Drink Specialist Ella. They made our 8 day journey around the islands incredible. They were attentive, exceptional at their jobs and a real pleasure to be around. They also went our of their way to assist each other and us throughout the trip to ensure we had the best time possible. We have had great experiences with the Moorings and other crews in the past, but these three were first rate and worked really well together.

Captain Levi had an incredible grasp of the vessel and navigation, understanding our needs and finding the perfect locations for us. Chef Lauren made exceptional food and ensured that all of our needs (which were not easy, were met) – and her desserts were divine – how someone can cook that well on a boat is beyond us. And Ella’s drinks rivaled the best bar tenders we have encountered through our travels over the years!

If you can secure the three of them, I would highly recommend it!

As a family we grew up sailing in the BVIs and it was always incredible. Sailing with Levi, Ella and Lauren as our crew brought it to another level!
They are very kind, loads of fun and experts at their craft!
The cooking was amazing, anchorages well thought out and beautiful and the attention to detail was memorable.
Can’t wait to go back and spend another week with them!

Giacomo (Jack) was the best captain. He was incredibly professional, patient, and accommodating with a pasty party of 7 from the Midwest USA. Jack struck a perfect balance of deferring to our plans, and when we didn’t have many plans, recommending things to do and see in the BVIs that turned out to be really fun, including hikes and niche snorkel spots. He has an uncanny knack for where to find any particular species of marine life.

If you’re looking for the trip of a lifetime in the Virgin Islands, make sure and book with the moorings and ask for Giacomo to guide your trip.

Cruising the BVI with Captain Jackie and Chef Marlon was absolutely wonderful! We had the most amazing experience and definitely want to go back. The scenery is beautiful and the charter staff was impeccable. We had three couples on our boat. Captain Jackie took us to all the hot spots and was so knowledgeable about the area as well as getting us hooked up with the local hot spots, etc. The meals on our boat were fabulous! I think we all came back a little fluffier. 🙂 I would definitely recommend to anyone who wants the most relaxing beautiful vacation to join this crew! It was awesome.

Beautiful islands and people. We had a few hiccups on the boat and their technicians came out right away and resolved the issue. They were ALWAYS available at any day or time. Exemplary customer service.

4 couples on a crewed catamaran in BVI’s. We all had a fantastic time- the incredible hospitality of Captain Anis and chef Tery! They showed us the best spots for views, beaches, snorkeling and a little shore food and entertainment! I wish there were more that 5 stars for our crew and trip. We would go back tomorrow if we could

The trip just 6 days & 5 nights was relaxing and stress free. The Captain, Francesco, was excellent and first mate, Nika, kept us well fed! Each meal she served better than the last!
Our cabin was very tight & very little storage. Enough room for a back pack. One.
Not a good fit for people with mobility issues.
I do give it 5 out of 5 for experience and crew!

The BVI was wonderful the boat for the most part was good. We had some issues such as the bridge radio didn’t work, the thrusters didn’t work and the refrigerator ice machine didn’t work.

Best trip ever! Very knowledgeable Captain who was fun too. The chef was great and her food was fabulous! Took us to some places we would never have known about through the guide books.

This was truly one of the best vacations we have ever had! It was our first experience with the Moorings and we took a one-week crewed charter with our two adult children to the BVIs during Christmas week 2023. Our skipper and chef, Luca and Georgia, were amazing! Everything was top-notch: the itinerary, our activities, the food and beverages, the catamaran. We are foodies, and the quality and creativeness of the food exceeded our expectations. The service was excellent, the team was fun and professional, and the boat was immaculate. There were so many fun water activities and things to do on shore. The BVIs are beautiful and the water is so clear. We snorkeled most days, and Luca and Georgia took us to some amazing spots. They always took the extra step to ensure we were enjoying ourselves and we became fast friends with them. We will definitely be taking another crewed charter with the Moorings!

UPDATE: We went again to the BVIs in March 2025 and this time we had Calvin and Katie. Amazing trip! They were fantastic and made our trip so enjoyable. The food was excellent, and Calvin and Katie did a super job to ensure we had a memorable, special trip. Highly recommend this crew team! What’s so cool is that we’ve maintained contact with both teams from our two trips.

Our crew – Richard aka Captain YumYum and Shelley aka Chief Birdie were outstanding. The food and drinks were wonderful! Each morning with their help we set our itinerary and it was great. Changes always allowed and encouraged. I would ask for them again. Of course the BVI is beautiful

It was clean and spacious; it is very well designed to maximize space.
The staff was fantastic, both when checking in and checking out. They answered all of our questions and made sure we had everything we needed.

We had an awesome week! Our Captain (Maryanna) was exceptional – she had the complete week planned to the last detail. Each stop we made on the trip was great – each offering a special experience of Croatia.
