Mooring fees in Grenada typically range from around $10-$40*, as many marinas will charge you based on yacht size, with average prices ranging from $0.70-$1.73 per foot. Other islands around The Grenadines, such as Tobago Cays and Sandy Island, have moorings available for around $15 per night.
It’s important to note that it is not recommended to use mooring balls in Grenada.

Additional costs you will need to consider when planning a yacht charter in Grenada include: Flights (around $350-$800 pp for a round-trip), taxi transfers (around $25 for 1-4 people), fuel (a full tank is included for all sailing charters), mooring fees (approx. $10-$40), provisioning (around $50-$75 pp, per day), Yacht Damage Waiver ($80-$170 per day), optional charter extras, and gratuity.
For 2 people on a 7 day yacht charter in Grenada, additional costs can start from around $1,200*. On average, you’ll need to factor an additional 25-50% of the initial Grenada charter price into your overall budget for living and operational costs

When it comes to your Grenada boat charter, you can choose your dream itinerary and chart your own destiny. However, if you follow one of our itineraries, you will sail to sensational islands, bays, cays and towns, each of which has something new to offer. Our 7-day Grenada sailing itinerary starts at our base in Port Louis Marina and takes you to Dragon Bay, Carriacou, Union Island, Tobago Cays, Petit Martinique, Prickly Bay and St George’s Bay.
As gateway to the Grenadines, Grenada’s southernmost location in the Windward Islands also opens the door to one-way charters through more challenging open-water passages, allowing you to experience the beauty of other points of interest in St. Vincent, the Grenadines and St. Lucia.
The peak sailing season in Grenada runs from October-June, which is generally considered the best time to set sail on the open waters of the Caribbean Sea and Atlantic Ocean. During this time, plenty of incredible regattas are held, such as the Grenada Sailing Festival in January and Grenada Classic Yacht Regatta in February.
June to November is the hurricane season for the Caribbean, but Grenada is south of the area most affected. It should be noted that, if conditions exist for hurricane development, we request very close contact with the base while clients are on charter.
Grenada is a fantastic sailing destination if you want to spend your charter island hopping and making magical memories. In very close proximity to Grenada you will find its sister islands, including Carriacou and Petite Martinique.
With breathtakingly beautiful islands, bays and cays such as Chatham Bay and St. Vincent on our Grenada itinerary, all that’s left to do is hire a skipper, relax up on deck and sip cocktails until you reach the next island on your route.

*Licenses are not required for trolling a line while underway. Spearfishing is illegal to all non-residents. You can also rent a fishing rod at the base at $10 USD.
Grenada has a beautiful, subtropical climate, experiencing a mild dry season from January to May and a wet season from June to December, with high temperatures and humidity.
The average temperature in St Georges ranges from 79°F – 82°F (26°C-28°C) year round, so you can sit back, relax and soak up the sun during your Grenada yacht charter.
Winds are nearly always NE-SE at 10-25 knots, intensifying around the northern ends of islands. Rain usually arrives in squalls seen approaching from windward, and typically squalls can have strong gusts. Visibility is normally over 10 miles, but reduced in squalls. Average annual precipitation varies from 1,524 mm (60 inches) in the coastal districts to 5,080 mm (200 inches) in the mountains.
When you embark on your relaxing Grenada sailing vacation, the base will provide the weather forecast for the following 24 hours. provides a weather forecast for the next 24 hours. There are locations at Blue Lagoon St. Vincent, Tyrell Bay, Clifton Harbour and Bequia where forecasts are posted daily. It should be noted that radio reception can be very poor in the islands, however reports can also be obtained by calling Port Louis Marina by cell phone.
Much like our destinations in the BVI, Greece and Antigua, the tidal range in Grenada is very small: 30 cm to 90 cm (1-3 ft), including the variation of level due to atmospheric pressure and dominant winds.
The current is normally westerly up to 2.5 knots, which should be taken into account when planning your Grenada yacht charter.
