As of 2026/2027, a Greece yacht charter can cost anywhere from $2,634 to $36,999, based on a 7-day charter for 2 people. Bareboat charters typically start from $3,059, power charters from $2,634, and crewed charters from $27,749, but can depend on a number of factors, including which base you choose, yacht type, charter type, party size, duration, and additional expenses such as flights, mooring fees, fuel and provisioning.

Costs for a bareboat charter in Greece range between $3,059 in the low season and $19,499 in the high season, based on a 7-day charter for two people.

How much does it cost to hire a skipper in Greece?

If you choose a bareboat or power charter with The Moorings, you have the option to add a skipper, who can help with navigation, local routing and day-to-day sailing. In Greece, a skipper costs $380 per night.

Please note that skipper provisioning will not be included in your charter price, so it will need to be factored into your budget. 

How much does an all-inclusive crewed charter in Greece cost?

Costs for a crewed charter in Greece range between $27,749 in the low season and $36,999 in the high season, based on a 7-day charter for two people.

A crewed charter is the easiest way to enjoy Greece, with your skipper and chef handling the sailing, meals and day-to-day details onboard. While the price is higher than our other charter types, most provisioning*, fuel, and watersports equipment are included in the price. 

*Our crewed charters in Greece include all meals, except for two dinners, which you will be able to enjoy in a local restaurant, experiencing the very best of Greece’s unique flavors and culture.

We have two bases in Greece that you can set sail around, Athens and Corfu:

Time of year

The time of year you set sail around Greece will have a big impact on the overall price of your yacht charter. While sailing in the high season usually offers the best possible sailing conditions, a low-season yacht charter is often much cheaper and less busy.

Greece’s high season falls from June to August; this is when you get the Meltemi winds, plus great underwater visibility and plenty to do as tourists, with more activity in the islands and harbor towns. If you wish to sail out of season, booking your yacht charter from April-May or September-October will ensure you still have fantastic sailing conditions, but without the higher costs.

Type of yacht

Whether you want a sailing experience aboard one of our classic monohulls, a spacious, stylish charter on a sailing catamaran, or a high-performance cruise around Greece on one of our power catamarans, the yacht you choose will play a big part in your overall charter experience. The Greece yacht charter cost will vary depending on the type (and size) of yacht you choose. For example, for a 7-day Greece charter for 2 people, departing on the same date:

• Monohull – $4,500-6,200
• Sailing Catamaran – $9,700-23,500
• Power Catamaran – $9,700-11,000

What additional Greece yacht charter costs do you need to factor in?

As you prepare for your uncompromised sailing vacation, you also need to budget for a number of living and operational costs, from flights to mooring fees and provisioning.

Many people will allow for an additional 25-50% of the initial charter price to cover these extra costs, although this can be more or less depending on whether all of the added costs apply to you.

Flights and airport transfers

On average, round-trip flights from the US to Greece cost between $600-1,100, depending on where you’re flying from, how far in advance you book, whether you’re flying during the peak season, and the type of ticket. 

The cost of an airport transfer will depend on whether you choose a shared or private taxi (which you can book in advance). On average, taxis from Athens International Airport to our Athens base tend to cost between €65-100. Taxis from Corfu Airport to our Corfu base, meanwhile, cost between €35-45.

Local taxes and mooring fees

Mooring fees in Greece range from around €30-320, depending on whether you have a catamaran or monohull, the size of your yacht, where you’re mooring up, and how long you stay. 

Here is a breakdown of some of the costs:

• Private Marinas – Costs can exceed €50-100 per night in the high season, depending on the size of your yacht.
• Town Quays – Typically €10-30 per night.
• Small Ports/Islands – Usually €10-20 per night.

Please note that, in many sailing destinations across the Mediterranean, including Greece, catamarans can be subjected to at least a 50-65% surcharge on standard fees.

Cruising taxes are included in the price of your yacht charter package. 

Provisioning

As a general rule, you should aim to allocate between $50-75 per person per day for provisioning, which will ensure everyone has plenty of meals, snacks, and drinks. 

That said, Greece is world-renowned for its incredible cuisine, so if you plan on feasting on traditional dishes like souvlaki, moussaka, dolmades, and baklava every day, and sampling the finest local wine, then you may choose to allocate more to your provisioning budget.

Please note that if you add a skipper to your charter, then you must pre-pay on the booking for the skipper’s provisioning. Online provisioning services are unavailable in Greece.

Fuel

Gratuity

A gratuity is expected and is typically given to the skipper or crew at the end of the charter. The amount is entirely at your discretion.

For crewed charters, if you’re happy with the outstanding quality of service during your all-inclusive sailing vacation, a gratuity of 15-20% of the overall charter price is suggested.
