Before setting sail around Croatia, let’s ensure your budget is as seamless as your charter. Whether you want a hands-on sailing trip or a more relaxed experience with added support onboard, costs can vary depending on how you want to travel.
To help make your vacation planning effortless, we’ve created a Croatia cost guide, with everything from average charter prices to additional costs and daily living expenses.
Croatia travel experts, Mirna Jakšić and Keith Harvey, have also shared their top tips for how to budget for your Croatia private yacht charter.
As of 2026, a Croatian private yacht charter can cost anywhere from $1,885 to $36,020, based on a 7 day charter for 2 people. Bareboat charters typically start from $1,885, power charters from $2,230, and crewed charters from $16,020, but can depend on a number of factors, including which base you choose, yacht type, charter type, party size, duration, and additional expenses such as flights, mooring fees, fuel, and provisioning.
| Type of charter | Starting price – low season | Starting price – high season |
| Bareboat sailing charter | $1,885 | $16,595 |
| Power charter | $2,230 | $14,045 |
| Skippered charter | $330 per night | $330 per night |
| Crew yacht charter | $16,020 | $36,020 |
Starting costs for a bareboat charter in Croatia range between $1,885 in the low season and $16,595 in the high season, based on a 7 day charter for two people. Bareboat charters offer a high degree of flexibility, as you can take the helm yourself or hire a skipper for all or part of your trip, and you have the opportunity to choose between a catamaran or monohull. All of these factors mean you can choose an option that works better for your budget and the kind of trip you want.

Starting costs for a power charter in Croatia range between $2,230 in the low season and $14,045 in the high season, based on a 7-day charter for two people.
A power catamaran is a good option if you want to cover more of the Croatian coast while still having plenty of space onboard. Designed with performance and comfort in mind, enjoy a laid-back vacation as you relax on the spacious flybridge, perfecting the art of doing nothing in the Mediterranean sun.
Like our bareboat sailing charters, you can also add a skipper to your power charter, for $330 per night.

If you choose a bareboat or power charter with The Moorings, you have the option to hire a skipper, who can handle navigation and local routing, giving you a more relaxed experience onboard. In Croatia, a skipper costs $330 per night.
Please note that skipper provisioning will not be included in your charter price, so will need to be factored into your budget.

Costs for a crewed charter in Croatia range between $16,020 in the low season and $36,020 in the high season, based on a 7-day charter for two people.
With a crewed charter, you can put your feet up, while our crew takes care of everything, from sailing to cooking and cleaning. Our crewed charters in Croatia include all meals, except for two dinners, which you will be able to enjoy in a local restaurant, experiencing the very best of Croatia’s unique flavors and culture.
While the cost is higher than our other charter types, provisioning, fuel, and watersports equipment are included in the price.
Regardless of which charter type you choose, make sure to explore our seasonal offers for the best deal.

What can impact the cost of a Croatia yacht charter?
When you sail with The Moorings, you can choose the kind of charter that suits you, from the type of yacht you climb aboard to the time of year you visit.
Each of the following factors can affect the overall cost of your yacht charter:
We have two bases in Croatia that you can set sail around, Dubrovnik and Agana:
| Charter Type | Dubrovnik | Agana |
| Bareboat Charter | N/A | Starts from $1,885-$16,595 |
| Power Charter | Starts from $2,315-$14,045 | Starts from $2,315-$14,045 |
| Skippered Charter | Starts from $330 per night | Starts from $330 per night |
| Crewed Charter | N/A | Starts from $16,020-$36,020 |
*Lower cost is based on the low season starting from price, and higher cost is based on the peak season starting from price.
Are you planning a 7 or 14 day yacht charter?
| Type of Charter | Average Price (based on high season rates) | |
| 7 Days | 14 Days | |
| Croatia Bareboat Charter | Starts from $4,000 | Starts from $7,500 |
| Croatia Power Charter | Starts from $7,600 | Starts from $14,500 |
| Croatia Crewed Charter | Starts from $24,000 | Starts from $45,000 |
The size of your party will also impact the overall cost of your Croatia yacht charter:
| Type of Charter | Average Price (based on high season rates) | ||
| 2 Passengers | 4 Passengers | 8 Passengers | |
| Croatia Bareboat Charter | Starts from $4,000 | Starts from $8,300 | Starts from $12,500 |
| Croatia Power Charter | Starts from $7,600 | Starts from $11,000 | Starts from $16,500 |
| Croatia Crewed Charter | Starts from $13,500 | Starts from $16,800 | Starts from $29,000 |
Whether you’re traveling in the high season or the low season will drastically impact the price of your Croatian yacht charter. While sailing in the high season usually offers the best possible sailing conditions, a low-season yacht charter has lower costs and fewer crowds.
Croatia’s high season falls from June to August; this is when you get the highest costs, best seafood, pleasant weather, and best waters for snorkeling. If you wish to sail out of season, booking your yacht charter from April-May or September-October will ensure you can enjoy milder conditions than during the wintery months, but still book for lower charter costs.

As you prepare for your beautiful sailing vacation, you also need to budget for a number of living and operational costs, from flights to mooring fees and provisioning.
Many people will allow for an additional 25-50% of the initial charter price to cover these extra costs, although this can be more or less depending on whether all of the added costs apply to you.
Living and operational costs include:
On average, round-trip flights from the US to Croatia cost between $800-1,500, depending on where you’re flying from, how far in advance you book, whether you’re flying during the peak season, and the type of ticket.
The cost of an airport transfer will depend on whether you choose a shared or private taxi (which you can book in advance). On average, taxis from Dubrovnik International Airport to our Dubrovnik base tend to cost between €50 and €80. Taxis from Split Airport to our Marina Agana base, meanwhile, can be up to 12€/person.

Mooring fees in Croatia range from around €30-320, depending on whether you have a catamaran or monohull, the size of your yacht, where you’re mooring up, and how long you stay.
Here is a breakdown of some of the average mooring fees:
Cruising taxes are included in the price of your private yacht charter package.
As a general rule, you should aim to allocate between $50-85 per person per day for provisioning, which will ensure everyone has plenty of delicious meals, snacks, and drinks.
That said, if food is one of your biggest priorities, and you see your party feasting on squid ink risotto, fresh grilled seafood, the best local Croatian wine, and truffle dishes, then we recommend setting aside a little more.
Please note that if you add a skipper to your charter, then you must pre-pay on the booking for the skipper’s provisioning.
You will need to account for the cost of fueling your yacht when you set sail around Croatia. To save you time and effort during your Croatian yacht charter, we have pre-paid fueling options available for sailing charters* in the Mediterranean. Learn more about our charter extras.
*Not available for Power charters.
A gratuity is expected and is typically given to the skipper or crew at the end of the charter. The amount is entirely at your discretion.
For crewed charters, if you’re happy with the outstanding quality of service during your all-inclusive sailing vacation, a gratuity of 15-20% of the overall charter price is suggested.

How can you keep to your budget on a Croatia yacht charter? Recommendations from the experts!
The Moorings’ Croatia travel experts, Mirna Jakšić (Agana Flotilla and Events Manager) and Keith Harvey (Dubrovnik Base Manager), have shared their top pieces of advice for keeping to your budget when planning a sailing vacation:
“Use your well-equipped boat”
Mirna says: “More and more boats in our fleet come with generators, watermakers, even grills installed. The need to go to marinas isn’t as big as it was before.
“As long as the weather allows it, anchoring in some of the most beautiful bays in the world is a great way to save some Euros.”
“Think strategic mooring”
Keith says: “Ditch the pricey marinas for secluded free anchorages and exclusive “dine-and-dock” island buoys!
“Be like a local and do a Mainland Sweep: Beat the “island markup” by stocking your galley at mainland superstores before you set sail!”
