The office manager and the shore crew were efficient and pleasant to deal with, they helped us learn the highlights of our boat and the trip itinerary. We were able to get on our way quickly! We chartered a 45′ Catamaran at Moorings base in Placencia, Belize and spent 6 days on it. We spearfished, saw many islands, visited Hideaway Cay and had a wonderful dinner, among other things. This was my first bareboat as a skipper. Several challenges were presented to us during the week but we, with the help of Moorings base resolved them all. The support we got before, during and after the cruise was exceptional. The boat was maintained at a high state of readiness and cleanliness. The Moorings not only provided us the boat and harbor, but the information and support we needed to grow our sailing skills and have fun. Highly recommended! We have booked two more weeks in the same location, one bareboat and one crewed for August 2025.

Amazing vacation with the Moorings in Belize. Our family was on a 45′ catamaran with a captain and cook. The captain was very knowledgeable and sailed us to many beautiful remote islands. Our cook created delicious cuisine from local sources for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. As we brought our 2 young grandchildren, the Moorings provided a mesh net around the sides of the catamaran to insure the highest level of safety for the young kids. Very smooth sailing and comfortable sleeping quarters. Incredible sights, diving, and a wonderful family bonding experience. Would highly recommend the destination and the hiring of a captain and cook to enhance the experience. 5 STARS!

Great company and great boat,planning our next trip to Croatia or the Mediterranean. Don’t plan on water maker working.

We rented a catamaran from The Moorings in Belize for 8 days and had a great time. The sailing isn’t for the faint of heart as the waters are shallow and the charts a little sketchy; however, everyone at the Moorings base was very helpful.

Have sailed the BVI many times with The Moorings. They are always so professional and friendly. From check in to boat checkout to provisions to check out and handling any issues. The Moorings has always been great to sail with.

This was the first time using Moorings. We picked up a boat in the BVI and crewed ourselves. The boat was excellent and the sevice was fast and efficient at the base before we left. They made evething very easy including sending a pilot out to dock the unweldy vessel at the end of the cruise. The boat was in very good shape and all systems worked adequately. (One couple complained about ordors from their head.)
I highly recomment Moorings. i would definatley use them again.

I’ve bareboated with friends in the BVI for years…this time we chartered with Captain Levi, Chef Lauren and Ella. Wow! The entire experience was delightfully carefree! Delicious meals, new spots to explore, and first-class service allowed us to enjoy more of the beauty that is the BVI. Captain Levi made sure that we wanted for nothing and brought us to new places–a great combo of stunning beaches and snorkeling spots. The crew set us up for fun. No more worrying about details like car rentals on Anegada or the anchor bridle. It was such a treat and so much fun! Thank you again Levi, Lauren and Ella!

This is a very well run base – they made everything so easy for us to pick up and return the boat. They had great supplies waiting for us onboard, called taxi drivers right on time, and helped us enjoy our vacation to the last minute before getting us to the airport on time. We love sailing out of Placencia because they do such a great job!

This was an amazing first time sailing adventure. We had some great sailing time to all the amazing spots in the BVI.
Our crew on the Kismet did an awesome job. The food & hospitality was the best. Would highly recommend The Moorings & the sailing cat Kismet & crew.

We had a wonderful time sailing the British Virgin Islands with our friends and the crew of a sailing catamaran. The BVI are, of course, beautiful, the boat was very comfortable, the food was excellent, and Captain Anis and Chef Tery were amazing. Anis took us wherever we wanted to go, and he also showed us several great places that we didn’t know about, and we always found a calm place to moor overnight. We enjoyed snorkeling, kayaking, and swimming interspersed with fine dining on Tery’s gourmet meals. Since we expressed an interest in developing our limited sailing skills, Anis let us take the helm, and he showed us how to operate the sails. He even taught us about navigation and reading charts.
Many thanks to Anis and Tery. They made all the difference (as well as devastating Painkillers), and I hope to have an opportunity to sail with them again.

Myself, my wife and 6 of our friends had an amazing time on Calif83, 4500L. The team at Moorings had the boat ready on time and very clean. Also, very knowledgeable and gave great briefing (I highly recommend taking your time on this, very shallow and reef areas everywhere) This was our first time in Belize and really loved it and the people. We spent 7 days sailing around all the beautiful islands and did some day and night scuba diving off South Water Kay (Highly recommend). The fishing was fantastic, Moorings rents poles and lures. Hideaway Kay was also a great stop, Dustin, Kim and their daughter were great hosts of their beautiful island, we played guitar and sang in their restaurant, Kim is an amazing chef and cooked up our fish for us!
WE WILL BE BACK! So much more to explore!

Have chartered with the moorings about 7 times. Always excellent service,clean boats,willing to help with any issue. Can’t imagine a better charter company.

This was such an amazing trip. We chartered a 45ft catamaran with 2 other couples. There is plenty of room to spread out. The staff was very responsive to a few issues that arose. Top notch.

Our captain Levi and crew members Lee and Ella were absolutely fantastic. I can’t say enough about the level of service they provided. The boat was amazing and had multiple areas to sit and relax so we never felt cramped. The food on board was always fresh and delicious and the drinks were great as well! We are already planning to book our next adventure with the Moorings!

We had a group of 8, 4 couples on a 464 PC. Check-in was seamless. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our boat was ready several hours before our sleep aboard started at 6pm. So they let us board early and unpack our things. They assisted with the delivery of provisions and the boat was clean, tidy, and ready to go! Shak was great to work with the next morning as our Briefer. He was there at 830 am so we could get out on the water by 930am. The boat ran great with very few issues that didn’t delay us!

The British Virgin Islands were so beautiful and visiting them on a catamaran was and experience I will never forget! Our itinerary was flexible and tailored to our requests, our crew was amazing and the food was gourmet quality!

We were invited to enjoy a bucket list trip of a lifetime with good friends on “Seas The Day”, with Captain Andy, First Mate and Chef Linzi (Captain Andy’s wife). Captain Andy and Linzi ensured we enjoyed this excursion, offering us the best that could possibly be offered. The yacht was well maintained and cared for. Captain Andy prepared a beautiful tour of the islands and First Mate Linzi prepared equally beautiful and delicious meals for us. We were treated to snorkeling stops along the way and shuttled to the different beaches where we enjoyed days at resorts and secluded beaches. Every afternoon we were treated to Chef Linzi’s “Nibbles” and a “Captains Cocktail”, prepared by Captain Andy to enjoy the BVI sunsets by. If you get the opportunity to enjoy an excursion like this, I would highly recommend The Moorings and if you’re really fortunate, you may be able to ask for and be treated to the best time with Captain Andy and First Mate Linzi.

It’s hard to beat The Moorings for planning a BVI sailing or power catamaran trip. Many choices of boats and a well established company with a great reputation.

Our departure was a bit delayed due to the sail cat not being ready on time but Lindsey compensated for the time lost.

When we were told this would be the vacation of a lifetime, I was excited but not prepared for what was to come. I cannot think of one thing that The Moorings or our constantly smiling and happy crew – Captain Kenrick, chef Vicki and Steward Maddie – could have done to make this trip any better or more memorable! The food, the guidance on where we were going and seeing, what to expect the next day, the 24/7 service, the immediate friendship and bond we felt with the crew were experiences to note. We literally feel like they are family now! If you’re on the fence about whether to take this adventure, go ahead and JUMP off the fence and BOOK NOW! We can’t wait to go again! Enjoy!
